Historia
Visiting her family's South Carolina estate, socialite Gray Godfrey wakes from a night out to an empty bed. Her husband, Paul, is gone, and a thrashing hangover has wiped her memory clean. At first, she's relieved for the break from her tumultuous marriage; perhaps Paul just needed some space. But when his car is found abandoned on the highway, Gray must face the truth: Paul is gone. And Gray may not want him found. Her life is unraveling. When a stranger named Annie calls claiming to know Paul's whereabouts, Gray reluctantly accepts her help.

Intriguing and interesting. The story flows smoothly as it builds itself to the full crescendo of the plot.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

This is a must listen to book BUT, prepare your heart for the honesty it delivers regarding the horrors of WWII. This story is beautiful and painful and I highly recommend it.

Excellent Book
Revisado: 04-27-23
This book deals with a serious issue in today’s world. For those who have experienced this, it is somewhat cleansing and offers resources at the end that are very helpful. For those who have not dealt with this issue, it is still a very good book to read.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Refreshingly vulnerable & honest
Revisado: 02-14-23
I truly enjoyed learning the truth behind the salacious stories we’d been conditioned to believe. I love Prince Harry’s honesty around his own mistakes throughout his life, it genuinely humanizes him. He is an amazing narrator by the way, I’d listen to him narrate any story.

Since she was nine years old, Alina Dziak knew she would marry her best friend, Tomasz. Now 15 and engaged, Alina is unconcerned by reports of Nazi soldiers at the Polish border, believing her neighbors that they pose no real threat, and dreams instead of the day Tomasz returns from college in Warsaw so they can be married. But little by little, injustice by brutal injustice, the Nazi occupation takes hold, and Alina’s tiny rural village, its families, are divided by fear and hate. Then, as the fabric of their lives is slowly picked apart, Tomasz disappears.

So engaging & inspiring
Revisado: 08-05-20
This book was so engaging & inspiring. I loved listening to the story of a family from opposition generations working through their lives challenges. It was so well written that I had to research whether or not it was a true story. I highly recommend this book! Great reminder of the Holocaust & the great tragedy that it was.

Historia
Data is fundamental to the modern world. From economic development, to healthcare, to education and public policy, we rely on numbers to allocate resources and make crucial decisions. But because so much data fails to take into account gender, treating men as the default and women as atypical, bias and discrimination are baked into our systems. And women pay tremendous costs for this bias in time, money, and often with their lives. Celebrated feminist advocate Caroline Criado Perez investigates the shocking root cause of gender inequality and research in Invisible Women.

Historia
Sir John Penlyon is planning to spend Christmas at his estate with his niece and his friend Danby, the closest thing he has to family since disowning his daughter years ago. (She eloped with the parson, who was, of course, penniless.) Danby suggests that at Christmastime the estate needs the presence of small children, and offers to find some - the “hirelings” - despite Sir John’s skepticism. Three children duly arrive, and the youngest, precocious four year-old Moppet, quickly endears herself to Sir John.

Historia
Levitt and co-author Stephen J. Dubner show that economics is, at root, the study of incentives: how people get what they want, or need, especially when other people want or need the same thing. In Freakonomics, they explore the hidden side of...well, everything. The inner working of a crack gang...the truth about real-estate agents...the secrets of the Klu Klux Klan. What unites all these stories is a belief that the modern world is even more intriguing than we think. All it takes is a new way of looking, and Freakonomics will redefine the way we view the modern world.

Interesting way to look at economics
Revisado: 07-10-12
This book was a fascinating way to see the world and the economics that drive it. I love when a book is narrated by one of the authors, I feel I get to experience the book in the exact way they intended for it to be experienced. I really enjoyed getting to peak in the mind of how some brilliant econcomists see the world and the questions that are never asked about how various things impact the economy.

Captivating and mind opening from the beginning!!!
Revisado: 07-10-12
Would you listen to Fifty Shades of Grey again? Why?
Absolutely! FSOG has opened my mind to a whole new way of thinking about sex and I swear it has improved my relationship with my husband. We talk so much more openly now to eachother about what I want and will try. He is in love with my new adventurous side thanks to this book. He has even listened to many parts with me.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Christian Grey because he embodies many characteristics I would love for my husband to have. He is too controlling but I LOVE his dominance in the bedroom.
What does Becca Battoe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I feel she really brings out the personality in the characters bringing them to life. The book is so much more realistic with the way she reads it. She doesn't over act anything and leaves enough to the reader's/listener's imagination but adds enough to bring it to life.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would LOVE to have listened to it all in one sitting if time permitted but it was just way too long.
Any additional comments?
I didn't want the book or series to end. I cannot wait until E.L. James next book is released.

Almost exact copy of Fifty Shades of Grey characte
Revisado: 07-10-12
Where does Bared to You rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I would say it is in the top 30% of books I have purchased
What was most disappointing about Sylvia Day’s story?
It was insulting at how much the characters mimics the Fifty Shades of Grey Characters. Ava (vs Ana) is young and insecure with her first job. Gidian Cross (vs Christian Grey, CG & GC) is a late 20's powerful CEO with a dark past and falls for the main character at first site.
What does Jill Redfield bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She brings the character to life.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would like to have but it's too long to do so.
Any additional comments?
I like the book overall and will buy the subsequent books but it irritates me just how much of a rip off the characters were to Fifty Shades of Grey!
