Historia
Humanity lurches into an uncertain future, dismissive of warning signs. Only the most naïve believe humanity will step back from the brink. Yet in a place that doesn’t exist, a riddle, a puzzle, hope, fear, danger, salvation - all come together. Zach Marjek has faced death in the far corners of the Earth and survived where others have failed. Now, he's thrust into an unimaginable situation where mercenaries, an Inuit wanderer, a murderous Yupik, a young mother, a video game designer, a retired general, a president, a Chinese marine, and mathematics prodigies must come together.

Interesting
Revisado: 07-06-20
It was an interesting story, would have liked to explore more on recovery effort as opposed to detrimental interaction of characters. No offense but it was a bit on the depressing side, not a lot of hope. Would also have liked more development of people's, all we really get to know is everyone they run into is hostile and thieving. I do have to admit it kept me mostly interested. Narrator was flat, didn't really make me empathize with the characters.

Historia
Udo's biggest problem isn't being a digger (that's low class), or staying drunk (that's damn expensive), or avoiding the Dwergaz (they're monsters), or even pissing off the supposed Gods. It's that his reality...well, it isn't what he thought. And now, he can't even afford to drink because his so-called friend Nicz is cutting into his business, digging up tin, iron, and copper. So Udo forms a new plan: clay. After all, clay jars are used to store everything: meat, herbs, and, his personal favorite, ale.

ok
Revisado: 06-26-20
Liked the story, disliked the cussing. It's always better to listen to a story without all the cuss words especially if it's a good one. Won't be listening to this one again, I do not need that filth in my ears and in my mind.

Historia
What if mankind's "missing link", the apelike Homo erectus, had survived to dominate a North American continent where woolly mammoths and saber-toothed tigers still prowled while the more advanced Homo sapiens built their civilizations elsewhere? Now imagine that the Europeans arriving in the New World had chanced on these primitive creatures and seized the opportunity to establish a hierarchy in which the sapiens were masters and the "sims" were their slaves.

Sort of interesting
Revisado: 02-26-19
Went in with open mind and found characters somewhat interesting, but not well developed. The story went along an alternate history timeline in patches as it switched between a character from one era to another. I listened to the complete story but finished unsatisfied at the end.

Just finished listening to Red rising. Fairly interesting. The narrator read it well, with passion. I personally would have preferred an American narrator, his accent was quite thick.

interesting but preachy

The storyline kept me interested enough to finish, different enough to be interesting. However not to my taste because of left wing, global warming, there is no God nonsense. Just write the story and let me decide what to believe please.
