Historia
Captain Jorah is renowned for being one of the youngest explorers to ever sail Zephyrian waters. He’s also notorious for landing his crew in situations they hadn't counted on, involving man-eating mermaids and other dangerous misadventures. When Jorah decides to search for the legendary underwater City of Larimar, he doesn't account for the quest that follows. After being rescued from shipwreck by a mysterious young woman who walks on water and carries a singing seashell around her neck, he soon finds himself reunited with an old friend once thought lost to him.

A wonderful adventure of friendship and overcoming
Revisado: 05-01-23
Reading Gem of the Sea was an experience of its own, but hearing the voices of Jorah and Larimar come to life is something that elevates the magic of Schulze's writing to another level. I almost wished there had been more singing! Larimar's song of her people is something I could listen to on repeat. The formatting is exceptional. There is a pause in between the ending of one chapter and the beginning of the next, and the speech is very fluid and easy to understand. The fact that this is an audio book helps immerse the reader in the experience or serves as good background noise while doing work around the house. I would sag the only issue that I had was when I would get a notification, not only because it would forcefully pause the audio book, but it would also cause the audio to repeat itself, an example would be when the narrator is explaining Larimar's expression shifting, if it said the smile fell from her face, it would repeat the word smile twice, sometimes it would repeat an entire sentence. So if you plan to listen to this audio books, be sure to have Do Not Disturb on, or make sure everyone you text regularly know that you're going on a mini audiocation and should not be disturbed unless it's an emergency for fluid and efficient listening.
Larimer is both a visual and now audible (pun unintended) treat that I recommend anyone who enjoys YA and fantasy should delve head first into this story of friendship, adventure, and overcoming the direst of odds., I promise that you won't regret it.
