Historia
The Rand scientific expedition entered the lush wilderness of the Amazon and never returned. Years later, one of its members has stumbled out of the world's most inhospitable rainforest - a former Special Forces soldier, scarred, mutilated, terrified, and mere hours from death, who went in with one arm missing...and came out with both intact.

Started with an interesting punch but continued to get more and more goofy and unrealistic until I had to stop and return it... not my cup of tea.

Historia
Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first Lo's stay is nothing but pleasant: The cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, and gray skies fall.

Historia
I'm a 64-year-old retired lawyer and former Assistant Attorney General with an unusual story to tell. Every word of it is true. It happened in a state park known as Devil's Den. For fear of losing my job and damaging my reputation in the legal community, I never spoke about the incident. If it hadn't happened to me, I'd be skeptical too. In 1977, I was an active duty NCO in the USAF. A friend and I planned a two-night camping trip to explore the wilderness. We drove deep into the forest until we came to a high plateau. There on the horizon sat a perfect triangle of three very bright stars....

Ah! Narrated by Author... beware of 'mouth sounds'
Revisado: 01-26-19
Good story. Gets better as the book goes on and quite informative. The decision to narrate own book on the other hand... this is the time to 'call a friend'. I listened at 1.25 speed to make narration passable. Once in a while the dry mouth sounds would make me cringe and I had to make myself focus on something else. Still worth listening to - just a fair warning :)

Story is good. Narrator is completely wrong for this book, almost making a mockery of parts with his reading style and ssssllllloooooowwwww speed. Interesting insights, well written otherwise.

Historia
When a spaceship landed in an open field in the quiet mill town of Sorrow Falls, Massachusetts, everyone realized humankind was not alone in the universe. With that realization everyone freaked out for a little while. Or almost everyone. The residents of Sorrow Falls took the news pretty well. This could have been due to a certain local quality of unflappability, or it could have been that in three years the ship did exactly nothing other than sit quietly in that field, and nobody understood the full extent of this nothing the ship was doing better than the people who lived right next door.

Interesting and then fizzles a bit...

Is there anything you would change about this book?
The story started out great and grabbed my attention, good plot. I realize after having listened to it that young (16 year old in this case) main characters are just not my thing. The story went to a unique place towards the end, but the last third of the book was just OK. I would say this is suitable for younger readers.

Nantucket Island. Quiet. Peaceful. Idyllic. For Oscar-winning actress Annette Carlson, it is the perfect refuge from a demanding career. For brilliant burned-out cop Tim Brooks, it's a chance to get away from the crime-ridden streets of the big city. And for Reverend George Osaro, ghost hunter, it is about to become a place of unspeakable terror.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Great book. Completely unpredictable, twisted, keeps you at the edge of the seat. The story builds and builds to a completely unique ending. I've seen a lot of movies of this type and read many books, this one is very high on my recommendation list. Go for it.
