Learn to approach the critical decisions in your life with a more seasoned, educated eye with this fascinating 24-lecture series that explores how individuals, groups, and organizations make effective decisions. The heart of this accessible series is a thorough examination of decision making at three key levels. First, you'll look at decisions made at the individual level, where, among the many things you'll learn is that intuition is more than just a gut instinct and, in fact, represents a powerful pattern recognition capability.

The goblin invasion is on...and a wizard's work is never done! After facing a hopeless siege, an implacable foe, and an impossible escape, you would think that Minalan the Spellmonger would be able to rest - but the armies of the undead goblin shaman Shereul (known as the Dead God to his human victims) are rolling over the Western reaches of the rustic Duchy of Alshar and is headed toward the heart of the Duchy of Castal. Thousands are fleeing for their lives as hordes of goblins pour out of Boval Vale and devastate the rugged fiefs of the Alshari Wilderlands.

compelling story with interesting characters
Revisado: 05-23-17
What did you love best about To Green Angel Tower?
the story was engaging as you follow along with Sioman and the many characters he encounters, however the most compelling part of the books was the extraordinary skills of the narrator (his mastery of narration brought the characters to life). With unique accents and pronunciations of odd words, names, places and phrases, he makes the authors imagination into a believable real world and language. good job to both of you
Who was your favorite character and why?
Binabick - fortitude, persistence, and pleasantness I am feeling
Have you listened to any of Andrew Wincott’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no, but have started to look for books he has narrated
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
laugh

The slow development of the main characters and the unpredictability of the plot
Who was your favorite character and why?
The wolf - he grows slow but builds a solid foundation of his character - good and bad
Which character – as performed by Tim Bruce – was your favorite?
the same

you want to know what happens
Revisado: 05-27-14
What made the experience of listening to The Emperor's Blades the most enjoyable?
this book started slowly for me but like most good books, I was captured by the characters and their lives before I realized it. The narrator did a good job of separating the voices with a peculiar asian/english/? accent but it works. The first thing I did when half way through was find out if the next book is out (it's not, but is due in Jan 15); that is a significant sign of the quality of the book (I want to know what happens).
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kaden (he is critical to the success of the realm), Tan (his trainer who must have a continuing role), Trieste (the new girl - she is more than she appears) and Valyn (the younger brother who has been trained and "changed" at his training on the rock)
What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?
He did a great job with funny but certainly workable accents to separate the characters (I like what he did) and I listen to many books.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Steel (Valyn), emptiness (Kaden) and cunning (Adare) to save the empire and the Malkeenian line.
Any additional comments?
nice job - the complexity and multiple plots are what makes it interesting.

a book for sixth graders
Revisado: 05-15-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
young kids and parents who want to expose their kids to a politically correct view of the world
What could Michael J. Sullivan have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
more realistic character development. this was juvenile and simplistic. the science was not the issue, it was the simplistic and weak manner of the characters. the characters were not plausible
What three words best describe Jonathan Davis’s performance?
did a good job with weak material
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
disappointment and frustration. Michael is a exceptional writer and this was far to simple to be part of his adult works (it could be for the young middle school mentality)
Any additional comments?
you don't score a goal with every strike so nothing is lost other than time.
