silk punk, more please

apparently I love silk punk. It's a sprawling story with lots of characters but Liu manages to not make it confusing. rich world building, meddling gods and great intrigue

Different and good
Revisado: 08-31-12
What did you like best about this story?
I really loved that the book pushed the borders of normal fantasy. The book is set in the world of the 1001 night's tales - or a world like this. The storytelling is really different from most books I have read - the storytelling perspective shift from chapter to chapter much like in Game of Thrones, but in Throne of the Crescent Moon the perceptive always shift to another person in the same scene, so the location do not change with the character.
Any additional comments?
The middle of the book is a bit dry, but otherwise it is good an interesting.

Historia
In Wyrd Sisters, the enchanting world of Discworld is turned upside down by three meddling witches: Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlick. Their interference in royal politics causes kingdoms to wobble, crowns to topple, knives to flash and citizens to shudder in fear. Terry Pratchett's vividly imaginative story takes you on a journey with hunchbacked monarchs, lost crowns, disguised heirs, refuelling broomsticks and frightening thunderstorms, as the three sisters battle the odds to restore the rightful king to the throne.

annoying dramatisation
Revisado: 03-17-11
It is Pratchett so the story is fun and enjoyable, but and it is a big but the dramatised narration is just plain annoying. It would be very helpful if dramatised narrations were marked with some kind of warning like the abridged versions are. I wish there were a plain version of this audio book. I don't mind the narrators voice, then she isn't making "voices" for the charters. This actually isn't a children's book, it shouldn't have "funny" voices - they are just distracting and take me out of the story.
