Historia
When COVID-19 sweeps through New York City, Jamie Gray is stuck as a dead-end driver for food-delivery apps. That is, until Jamie makes a delivery to an old acquaintance, Tom, who works at what he calls “an animal rights organization”. Tom’s team needs a last-minute grunt to handle things on their next field visit. Jamie, eager to do anything, immediately signs on. What Tom doesn't tell Jamie is that the animals his team cares for are not here on Earth. Not our Earth, at at least. In an alternate dimension, dinosaur-like creatures named Kaiju roam a warm and human-free world.

Fun / Divertido
Revisado: 04-03-25
Its an easy to follow story with fun characters and a good plot. My first aproach to Scalzi and I must say Im hooked.
Es una historia facil de seguir con personajes divertidos y una buena trama. Es mi primer acercamiento a la obra de Scalzi y tengo que decir que definitivamente leeré más de él.

Two thumbs up for all the people involved in this production.
Not only is the story great, but, the narration is also masterful.

Historia
Dr. Greta Helsing has inherited the family's highly specialized and highly peculiar medical practice. She treats the undead for a host of ills - vocal strain in banshees, arthritis in barrow-wights, and entropy in mummies. It's a quiet, supernatural-adjacent life until a sect of murderous monks emerges, killing human and undead Londoners alike. As terror takes hold of the city, Greta must use her unusual skills to stop the cult if she hopes to save her practice - and her life.

Almost perfect
Revisado: 02-18-25
Sometimes during the performance, its difficult to differentiate when there is a change of setting. Its technically not an error, however I had to back track sometimes because the scene stopped making sense and discover where was the change of scene.
The story is interesting enough to make me want to read the next book in the series.

Historia
When an ambitious teenage girl from Earth finds herself in a magical realm, she could be the hero—but she'd prefer to be the villain. When power-hungry Everly is reborn into a medieval world where elemental magic rules and she receives her elemental servants—the oddly sadistic Eris and the fun-loving Titania—years earlier than one typically would, she knows she's destined for a command of necromantic magic the likes of which her peers can only dream.

Writing needs a lot of work...
Revisado: 01-09-25
The origin of the MC is interesting, however plot and character are all over the place from early on.
There is no focus nor much continuity. Characters are more bratty than evil.
Got a few laughs out of it, however, so its OK as long as you are not expecting something life changing.

Beware: Time-Travel Story Ahead
Revisado: 11-08-24
First of all the narrator performs magnificently. Two thumbs up for her.
My beef is with story and plot. I dislike time travel stories because its almos impossible to make them coherent and this is a time traveling story. Had I known beforehand I wouldn't have bought the audiobook.

Historia
The Greek myths are amongst the greatest stories ever told, passed down through millennia and inspiring writers and artists as varied as Shakespeare, Michelangelo, James Joyce and Walt Disney. They are embedded deeply in the traditions, tales and cultural DNA of the West. You'll fall in love with Zeus, marvel at the birth of Athena, wince at Cronus and Gaia's revenge on Ouranos, weep with King Midas and hunt with the beautiful and ferocious Artemis.

Historia
You are now leaving the age of Aquarius please lower your seat when rising from your head. It was something to do with the cycles of history. The way great civilizations rise and fall. Golden ages and dark ages. Things of that nature.Few people noticed at first. The changes. They were subtle to begin with. Like when the Leader of the Opposition challenged the PM to step outside and settle things man to man. And the PM agreed. Or the way the baked ham rose up against Dave while he was standing in the check-out queue at Budgens. Small things. But they just kept getting bigger. And by the time everyone realized that something very strange was going on, it was all too late. The Earth had left behind the age of science and reason and moved once more into a time of myth. A time of legend and heroes. Of romance and wizardry and wonder. It was a time to take the mother of all giant leaps and enter -The Garden of Unearthly Delights

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 11-19-22
At times it was almost funny, but to tacky al cliche;
It just tries to hard to be funny, absurd and it just fails miserably.
Main character is a douche, secondary characters same or worse.
There is no real story here, just an ill mashed up string of nonsense.
On the other hand the audio part of the book is pretty well made.
Maybe it was just not what I expected, maybe it just wasn't my thing.
I will certainly read something more from the author, and then decide if it was just a one time thing with this book or if its the writing style that is not for me.
