Bored me to death, couldn’t keep going
Revisado: 07-19-24
I listened to 6 chapters and gave up. Couldn’t get into it at all, so slow moving and BOOOORING. I don’t know why they have a male narrator for a book with mostly female characters. The narrator for this book just drones on & on… blah blah blah blaaaaahhhh. I found it next to impossible to follow which character is which, find interest in any character, or to follow the story in general. The story was not AT ALL interesting to me. I’ve really liked other books by this author, but give this one a hard pass. Hate it when I buy a book and can’t stand to listen to it. Would NOT recommend. Did I mention how incredibly BORING this is?? Ugh.

I don’t get the 4.3 rating
Revisado: 05-21-24
Based on other reviews, I think this book is way underrated. I thought it was excellent. In fact, it’s one of the best books I’ve read in many years. Most mysteries become boringly predictable for me, to the point that I often don’t want to finish reading them. This one was NOT like that. Lots of twists and turns, things that kept me guessing, and a surprisingly unpredictable ending that left me shocked. This was the first book I read by this author, and I went on to buy most of his other books because of it. The 4.3 rating on Audible is too low. I would personally highly recommend this book for anyone who loves a good mystery!

Trigger warning
Revisado: 05-21-24
I love Greg Olsen’s books and have read several. This was a good story with some twists and turns. I feel that I should issue a trigger warning, though. Some of the parts about a young boy being sexually abused and animals being hurt were too graphic for me. Even as a children’s therapist who has heard it all, this was a bit too much for me. Or perhaps that’s why it was too much, because I need an escape from the horrible things that are done to children, which I am later expected to help heal. If you are a victim of childhood sexual abuse or SA in general, I would recommend skipping this story. Good book overall, though.

Loved this story!
Revisado: 05-21-24
This was such a touching story. I was hesitant to read anything about the Vietnam war, my dad is a vet with PTSD and doesn’t like to talk about it. I wasn’t born until a few years after he returned, so it’s not something I really experienced (other than the aftermath). This book made me cry, imagining some of the things my dad saw and experienced. But overall, it was uplifting and a great story. I knew how vets were treated when they returned, but I’d never heard the story about what the women went through before. It angered me to learn they were so easily dismissed, not believed, and were treated as though they couldn’t have PTSD. I loved the main character and her story. I loved that this book kept me invested and wanting more from the very beginning, and I loved hearing about the war from a woman’s point of view. I give this book 10/10 and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good, engrossing story.

Historia
Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.

LOVED this!!
Revisado: 05-21-24
Normally I read (or listen to) murder mysteries but after the last intense one I read, I needed something lighter. This book was recommended on the Audible app and sounded cute so I went for it. I’m so glad I did. I’ve never read this author before, but now I’m going to search for more of her books. This one kept me invested from the very beginning. It made me laugh, made me cry, and all around was a great story. I was a little angry toward the end of the book when things took a turn, but it later made sense and I was crying yet healed by the time it was finished. Highly recommend!
