Laugh out loud funny!
Revisado: 03-29-19
Based on Matt Berry's character from the sitcom "Toast of London", this is a hilarious series of stories about his acting career. It's best to listen to in small doses as it's a short book and worth spreading out for full effect.

Interesting setup fizzles in the third act
Revisado: 06-27-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It depends on the friend - it plays out a little like a TV movie at times.
Would you be willing to try another book from Bobby Cole? Why or why not?
His characters are interesting, so I would probably try one more title to see how he handles other ideas.
Which character – as performed by David de Vries – was your favorite?
Don Daniels!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
No idea!
Any additional comments?
Great narration, great characters (though a few silly ones) and an over-the-top ending that spoils an interesting setup.

Historia
Not much could drag Jim Booker out of a peaceful, if lonely, retirement and back to late nights, crime scenes, and chases. Jim Booker is done with detective work and would just like to enjoy a cup of coffee on a sunny day. But when an old friend shows up with a case about an old flame, Booker can’t say no.

A different spin on the serial killer genre
Revisado: 06-27-14
What did you love best about Silent Echo?
The narration was fantastic. The book got a little repetitive about the protagonist's health condition, but Phil Gigante made it sound important and urgent.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Silent Echo?
No spoilers!
Which scene was your favorite?
No spoilers!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The very end!
Any additional comments?
The book has a lot of the usual serial killer tropes, such as the killer explaining exactly why and how he/she did what they did and another common twist that will go unmentioned. All in all it was a well narrated and interesting spin on the serial killer genre.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

A master class in narration...
Revisado: 01-13-14
What made the experience of listening to A Game of Thrones the most enjoyable?
Roy Dotrice is the perfect narrator for A Game Of Thrones. Believable and consistent character voices delivered with passion and context. A gold standard - this excellent series is in good hands. Now hurry up with the last two books Mr. Martin!
