Good Ending to a Great Series
Revisado: 12-15-21
I loved the world of Alex Veras. It's awesome to have consistent quality of writing throughout. If I'm being totally honest, I wish it had a stronger ending. It's not that the ending was bad, I think it's the fact that I guessed it. No real big twists, But it was solid. I hope Mr Jacka continues creating within this world.

Historia
What does the most powerful wizard in the world do after the war? Despite the hordes of goblins still ready to ravage human lands, King Rard has signed a treaty with them, so Minalan is forbidden from taking advantage of their weak state. Most would take a well-deserved rest over the summer…but Minalan and his household are busy repaying a favor owed to the tribal Kasari for their help in the war, and the Spellmonger pays his debts. So Minalan spends his summer sneaking 2,000 Kasari children through enemy lines and some of the roughest territory in the Five Duchies toward salvation.

Love. Like. Disappointed... all at the same tim
Revisado: 09-05-21
Is it weird to love a series, and like a book, but still be disappointed? I don't know. If u want to continue into the future of The Spellmonger story, u should get thus book. But some of the author's stylistic choices are starting to annoy me.
I'll just leave it there.
cool stuff with the gods in this one. that's what kept me happy.

Revisado: 06-26-21
I think I knew it when I started the Trilogy but by the time I got the the end of book 3, I forgot this was the origin story of a major character in one of Rowes other books.
I hope that is not a spoiler. If you’ve gotten through book 2 and you're wondering if book 3 is worth the time/money, I say get it. no brainer.

Historia
Minalan gets medieval! When you defeat the invading goblin army, get knighted on the field of battle, gifted with lands and gold, usually your happily-ever-after is...happy. But now that Minalan the Spellmonger has been ennobled and enfiefed, Sire Minalan has a task cut out for him that makes defeating goblins seem like child’s play: Moving his very pregnant bride and a few thousand refugees from Boval Vale into the remote, sparsely peopled Domain of Sevendor. But when he arrives, he finds the land withered from neglect, filled with superstition and suspicion.

Solid Story, decent characters...
Revisado: 01-02-21
What i like about this book is that it is not just more of the same. The story evolves, and the characters evolve.
This may sound weird but My only complaint is that not enough bad stuff happens to The Spellmonger. He's got it kinda easy. Ok, maybe not easy, but it would be interesting to see his reaction if the fit ever hits the shan.

I love the world, the characters are alright, and the storyline is good enough to keep my interest. buuuut, the books are too a short! you could put together the first two books and still not have a story. annoying. to continue or not is the question.

Evan Smoak lives by his own code. Once he was known as Orphan X. Trained as an off-the-books government assassin and spoken about only in whispers, Evan Smoak was one of the most talented - and most feared - men in the Program. But he broke free and reinvented himself as The Nowhere Man, a figure shrouded in mystery, known for helping the truly desperate. If anyone is truly desperate, it’s Max Merriweather.

Evan Smoak is Awesome! The plot, not so much.
Revisado: 03-27-20
Good story, but not great with this 5th book in the series. Characters are one, maybe two dimensional at most. Not a lot of depth going on there. I always enjoy Smoak, but I feel like characters like Joey and Mia, Peter, and even Tommy have become characteratures that rely on past books to make them seem real.

I don't know. Maybe my expectation's are too high because of Koontz's track record. I like the basic premise of the nameless series, but the individual stories leave much to be the desired .
