I received a free audio book in exchange for an honest review.
Having listened to Lincoln Cole's books before, I was expecting something really good, and I did receive something amazing. This isn't the normal type of novel that I read, or listen to, but it was brilliant. Seeing the novel from Nicole and Richard's perspectives made it so much deeper and personal and brilliant and I'm so glad I read this novel.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
This was an emotional rollercoaster of a novel. It really made you feel alongside the main character, who is depressed and lonely after the loss of his wife. Through looking back over his life, via reminiscences, the intricacies of relationships and connections and actions and life are explored and explained. I thought this book was beautiful.

This book was pretty good. The pacing was great, it introduced interesting characters that I wanted to know more about. Except Ceasar, who I thought was pretty lame, being as his disappearance is the reason for the entire book, he's not a very likeable character, in my opinion.
The plot was brilliant - it was like a treasure hunt but with added stakes.
I had such a bad feeling about the Sterling brothers and their interactions with Haylie really push forward this novel. They were pretty good.
The ending was a bit lacklustre, very generic which I found slightly disappointing but also needed, considering how the novel began. Very cliché ending.
I'll probably check out book 2 when it's out to see the continuing adventures of Haylie Black.

Historia
Sherman had always thought high school was a real drag. He was looking forward to finishing his senior year so that he could coast through college, get a day job, and spend the rest of his life playing video games. He is used to seeing angels, but when a new girl transfers into his AP physics class, he thinks demons might be more his style.

Succubus! Hell High.
Revisado: 12-30-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No.
Would you ever listen to anything by Michael-Scott Earle again?
Maybe. He wrote well, if slightly childishly. This novel had quite a young writing voice which I found quite hard to accept.
Did David Dietz do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes. Dietz was a very good narrator.
Was Succubus! worth the listening time?
Not really.

When I first saw the plot for this, I thought it would be brilliant, but instead I found it rather lacking; the main character comes across as a stereotypical nerd and is pretty much suffering a case of insta-love with the main female character. Though I feel the insta-love sorta qualifies him for the plot twist at the end. Like seriously dude. She's a succubus. And she never got your name right. Think with your brain for like half a page of this book.
Also the main plot device is never explained and that really bugs me.
I really wanted to like this book... but I just couldn't.
