Not hypnosis. Not any good
Revisado: 08-28-24
This is just a voice telling you you don’t want to smoke cannabis. Ridiculous and ineffective. This is not hypnosis!

Like walking through wet cement
Revisado: 07-04-21
There are so many things wrong with this book, not the least of which is how badly written it is. It seems like the author is trying to write an autobiography like one would write a novel. Not only is it awkward, but it makes it hard to listen to. There are so many passages that make no difference to the story. For example, there is almost a whole chapter on how the author met her husband. Does she not know that we're only there to hear the story of Melania and the Trumps? In true victim fashion, the author takes no responsibility for anything that's happened and makes herself out to be the good guy at every turn. The whole book feels like an explanation to her friends and social circle of how innocent she was in her dealings with the Trumps. I listened to it for what I could find out about Melania and the rest of the family, but the price of boredom and having to get through this book is a high price to pay for the tiny tidbits this book provides. Don't waste your time!

Historia
This mesmerizing first novel tells the epic journey of Lin, an escaped convict who flees maximum security prison in Australia to disappear into the underworld of contemporary Bombay. Accompanied by his guide and faithful friend, Prabaker, Lin searches for love and meaning while running a clinic in one of the city's poorest slums and serving his apprenticeship in the dark arts of the Bombay mafia. The keys to unlock the mysteries that bind Lin are held by two people: his mentor Khader Khan, mafia godfather and criminal-philosopher; and the beautiful, elusive Karla, whose passions are driven by dangerous secrets.

Caution: You Won't Be Able To Stop Listening
Revisado: 01-12-19
This book was so good that I would arrive at my destinations and just sit in the car and keep listening.
This book has it all, it's exciting, got romance and adventure. Frankly, I'm surprised this book hasn't been picked up and made
a movie from.

Historia
Jacob Fugger lived in Germany at the turn of the 16th century, the grandson of a peasant. By the time he died, his fortune amounted to nearly 2 percent of European GDP. Not even John D. Rockefeller had that kind of wealth. Most people become rich by spotting opportunities, pioneering new technologies, or besting opponents in negotiations. Fugger did all that, but he had an extra quality that allowed him to rise even higher: nerve.

The First Book About Finance For Anyone
Revisado: 01-12-19
This book is a classic for good reasons. The story is told like an old grandfather teaching his kin about finance. It's told as a story and not a lesson on finance. This book is interesting and easy to understand. A great first finance book for anyone at any
age.
I read this book over 20 years ago and I never forgot it's lessons.

Difficult book
Revisado: 01-12-19
The first half was super interesting and I was all into it but then the book got all financial with heavy numbers.
I think Tony forgot that we are not as far along with finance as he is. I felt like I entered into a conversation that had
already been in progress before I got there. Once Tony started talking numbers my brain zoned out. It was too advanced for me and I was lost.
His next book Unshakeable fixed that oversight.

Historia
The Art of Fermentation is the most comprehensive guide to do-it-yourself home fermentation ever published. Sandor Ellix Katz presents the concepts and processes behind fermentation in ways that are simple enough to guide listeners through their first experience making sauerkraut, and in-depth enough to provide greater understanding for experienced practitioners. While Katz contextualizes fermentation in terms of biological and cultural evolution, nutrition, and even economics, this is primarily a compendium of practical information.

Historia
Stephen Mitchell, the renowned translator of the Tao Te Ching, selected excerpts from that ancient text as a stimulus for Byron Katie to talk about the most essential issues that face us all: life and death, good and evil, love, work, and fulfillment. The result is an audiobook that allows the timeless insights of the Tao Te Ching to resonate anew for us today, while offering a vivid and illuminating glimpse into the life of someone who lives what Lao-tzu wrote more than 2,500 years ago.

Life changing
Revisado: 11-12-12
What did you love best about A Thousand Names for Joy?
Katie is on another plane but she's here to help us reach a higher ground. It's something to keep practicing. Can't just listen to it once and walk away. She opens doors for us and, I, for one am grateful for these recordings.
What does Byron Katie and Stephen Mitchell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Listening is definitely easier than reading it. It seems to be more absorbable that way.
