Historia
Mariana Andros is a brilliant but troubled group therapist who becomes fixated on The Maidens when one member, a friend of Mariana’s niece Zoe, is found murdered in Cambridge. Mariana, who was once herself a student at the university, quickly suspects that behind the idyllic beauty of the spires and turrets, and beneath the ancient traditions, lies something sinister. And she becomes convinced that, despite his alibi, Edward Fosca is guilty of the murder. But why would the professor target one of his students?

Wonderful wonderful story and performance
Revisado: 07-27-24
What amazing story!
The performances were also excellent. Several people have commented on The performer who plays Tara, she definitely wasn’t as good as the other readers, but she didn’t spoil the book for me.
The stories of three women and 3 men that we’ve together so perfectly and meticulously. It was an absolute joy to listen to, and I would thoroughly recommend.

The biography of Sri Ramakrishna is the story of an intense search for God. Sri Ramakrishna was not satisfied until he realized God to be real with every fiber of his being. He ultimately saw God more intensely than he saw the world. Sri Ramakrishna talked with God as a young child speaks to the mother throughout the day.

Amazing story and performance
Revisado: 03-25-24
Thank you so much for this amazing book.
The book was woven with Chitra Banerjees usual unfailing, understanding of the human heart and she has again created real and complex characters.
The protagonists are utterly real to me, as if they are people I’ve known and my heart opened and closed throughout the book with their joys and sorrows as they came.
I love her understanding of the human condition with her focus on what women, even today, endure.
Read this book! You won’t regret it

Historia
The Ramayana, one of the world's greatest epics, is also a tragic love story. In this brilliant retelling, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni places Sita at the center of the novel: This is Sita's version. The Forest of Enchantments is also a very human story of some of the other women in the epic, often misunderstood and relegated to the margins: Kaikeyi, Surpanakha, Mandodari.
