A firm 4 stars.
Revisado: 07-20-18
Overall this is a satisfying audiobook if you're into artificial intelligence. I liked the AI characters the most, but I feel the narrator did a great job bringing them all to life. A few parts of the story felt a little unnecessary and 11 hours is a tad short but I'd definitely buy more from this author.

If anything it's interesting
Revisado: 03-21-18
The first thing is, It kept me interested. There were a few repetitive areas where previous information was repeated to explain something.
The second thing is, our guy isn't a scientist let alone an extraterrestrial engineer. Just a couple of the explanations presented won't go over well with physicists, but you have to remember that the explanations aren't from a scientist. The majority is plausible.
The book doesn't read like a fiction novel. The narrator is not great, but okay considering the material.

Absurd lack of focus. It's mind boggling really
Revisado: 11-05-17
There is no focus. At the halfway point, I still couldn't find the story. Where is the story? The performers were okay for what they had to work with. I felt no connection to any character. You never get to know them. The writing is mindless babble jumping from character to character almost every sentence and then jumping to a completely different group of characters or slightly related insert. It's like the author doesn't want you to know latch on to a story line.
I thought I'd love this book, but the writing style is just horrible. I don't know how anybody could listen to this. There is zero immersion.
Wasted potential due to complete and utter lack of focus.

Historia
Five days ago a rash of bizarre murders swept the country. Senseless. Brutal. Seemingly unconnected. A cop walked into a nursing home and unloaded his weapons on elderly and staff alike. A mass of school shootings. Prison riots of unprecedented brutality. Mind-boggling acts of violence in every state. Four Days Ago the murders increased ten-fold. Three days ago the President addressed the nation and begged for calm and peace. Two days ago the killers began to mobilize. Yesterday all the power went out. Tonight....

Pretty good story
Revisado: 04-24-13
The only thing I disliked was the narration of the women and kids voice. Their voices weren't awful, but maybe a little too much effort (like most men trying to sound small or feminie). This story is good and keeps you wondering what will happen next.

Historia
When the end finally occurred, everything about it was cinematic. The dead came back and ate people, civilization collapsed, and no one could do a thing. But Cyrus V. Sinclair couldn’t care less; he’s a sociopath. Amidst the chaos, Cyrus sits back and contemplates the gore stained streets and screams of his fellow man with little more emotion than one of the walking corpses. With his cache of guns and MREs, he rather likes the idea of hunkering down in his Seattle apartment while the world ends outside.

Shallow story + filler = boring
Revisado: 02-16-13
The first and last hour were okay but everything between was soooo boring. I kept hoping for a story but it was more like hours of descriptions of things that didn't matter. There was too much conversation and not enough happening for hours and hours. I almost stopped listening but wanted to give an accurate review. This is the worst zombie book I've read.

Left a lot to be desired
Revisado: 01-05-13
This is my 13th zombie book and It was definitely a tier 3 book. Don't get me wrong, there were some very good parts but there was a lot of boring stuff too. The beginning was too long for what it brought to the table. It was good enough if its one of your last options.

Very satisfying overall, quality material.
Revisado: 01-01-13
The story was better than many reviewers will have you believe. I honestly believe it was a solid 4.0 story with a 3.0 ending. Again, there was nothing wrong with the story. The ending was not bad at all, it just could have been expanded on. Sort of like a cliffs notes ending.
The different style was no big deal because there was quality material.
I recommend this to readers of the first two books in the series. Even without the first two books I think this would be a good listen.
