overall entertaining and creative. I enjoyed expanding the other characters. Would have rated five stars, but the internal friction within Star Watch a buzz kill. Given the external threats that can end human civilization the constant demeaning of Victory's crew by high command is getting old. Star Watch should be a crack force top down. On to the next episode...

weak plot, endless stupidity

Tried to get into story line, but after one chapter seemed like a repeat of last chapter, it got very boring. Like watching an endless video game in loop mkde. Not sure of authors intent, but how stupid can the characters get. Scifi version of dumb and dummer. Add to that essentially repeating the last chapter actions with different character names. Couldn't finish or even interested enough to flip to last chapter...

After Nth chapters it seemed Pino masked superhero had nine lives, and seemed to good to be true. I jumped to prolong. Why didn't Pino prevent Anna from being executed for collaboration when he recruited her as a spy? Didn't fit, so googled it. Seems much of Pinos storyline can't be substantiated. Pino's post ww2 life doesn't follow his novel moral compass. I personally came to conclusions , imo, Novel is historical fiction with emphasis on fiction. Does document well how Italians suffered in ww2 under Nazi yolk.

Story started out great, but soon dissolved into a wandering plot, 1 dimensional characters and a divergent story line. For example 19th century sailors very superstitious. Yet they see a floating sky ship shooting lasers, then attack it and shrugged it off and continued to follow Captain into dangerous waters. uh! Ending leaves you hanging;ie, buy book 2. ;-)

At Omicron 9, Professor Ludendorff unearthed artifacts of the fabled Old Ones. During a meeting in a subterranean chamber, a portal appeared and aliens attacked, perhaps to kidnap the professor or grab the artifacts. Maddox’s new intuitive sense gave him just enough warning. He saved Ludendorff and rushed into the portal to forestall any more assaults - and thus began his lonely odyssey from one strange place to another. Maddox eventually found a Builder potential unit, and they resolved to work together. But the unit betrayed him and then Victory.

Rebirth

I was hesitant to listen to the 15th installment of lost series thinking it might get difficult in keeping the storyline fresh. However, I was surprised by the creativity of the author. He added depth to the characters such that I was drawn in. Top it off with a clever storyline that was honestly refreshing and new. Now my interest in the 16th installment is qued. And can't wait for the movie! :-)
