Historia
For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Probably just not for me
Revisado: 09-21-22
I recognize that the fact I did not really enjoy this was because fantasy like this just isn't something I enjoy. It felt boring and long. The magic was a little interesting but not enough for me to care about the story or the characters or the world. Great narration though. Will def keep this title around if I need help sleeping

Good, but not my fave Greenwood
Revisado: 07-20-22
Good, but not my favorite of Bryn Greenwood's. I really like Greenwood's unique writing style but the story and characters didn't resonate with me as much as her other books. The ending was a little unsatisfying as well.

I gave it a shot
Revisado: 02-11-22
Romance is not my typical genre but I decided to give this one a try. I'm pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this. I was instantly drawn to the main man and quickly became invested in the story and the characters relationship. Great performancances from the narrators as well.

Listen up, kid. My name is Dr. Cecil H.H. Mills. I’m the author of this book and many other ones that you might not have heard of. This book is about two idiot wannabe detective-types. Their names are J.J. and Valentine Watts, but I’m not sure if they’re actually brothers or not. They make a friend; her name is Trudi de la Rosa. She’s a wannabe detective-type too, but honestly, she’s less of an idiot than the brothers.

A Hoot
Revisado: 09-24-21
Fantastic narration, and a pretty great story. The humor had me giggling the whole book! The jokes and the mystery are really well-balanced. While fairly campy, the mystery is still engaging, and the stakes are high enough that I was invested in the story and characters. I wouldn't mind seeing another title like this from Dr. Mills

Best title I've gotten in a while!
Revisado: 04-16-21
I couldn't stop listening! Yes the content of the story is pretty disturbing and hard to listen to at times. This book is not for everyone. But it was so engaging, so well written, and preformed beautifully! The narrator does so well with making different characters sound distinct and their voices change as they grow older. Such a tragic story, but I almost listened to the whole thing in one day, I needed to know what happened next

Good Mystery, rambled too much
Revisado: 02-18-21
I liked the mystery, and it kept me listening until the end, but the writing felt repetitive, and I just wanted the story to get to the point. I did like the nods to Ted Dekkers work, but the way the same thing is described the same way over and over felt very reminiscent of his writing style, which I didn't love
