What is up with the reader??
Revisado: 01-18-21
The story was cute, but it was very difficult to ignore the strange speech pattern of the female narrator. She dragged out the end of the last word in each sentence. “He moved next to herrrr. She watched as he took his shirt off and dropped it on the flooooor.”
It was very strange. And it wasn’t every now and then. This was the entire story.

Historia
I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York. The food, champagne, and service were impeccable. The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better. He was suave and intelligent. We talked and laughed, and something clicked. Fate took over and the plane was grounded, and we had an unexpected stopover for the night. With no plans, we made our own.

2nd book, I’m hooked
Revisado: 10-10-20
This is the second story I’ve listened to from this author, and I am definitely hooked. The story is very cute, and the characters get fleshed out so well it’s easy to fall in love with them. The heroine is a perfect mix of snark, sass and toughness and this story is quite addictive.

I didn’t get very far
Revisado: 05-15-20
I wasn’t able to get very far into this audiobook due to the style of reading. They had multiple voice actors and it made it really tough to follow. The male reader was a bit monotone, the women’s parts were “soap opera” forced, and the way it bounced back and forth it just really didn’t work for me.

Awesome
Revisado: 10-27-19
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were all well described, easy to visualize. Each had such strong personas... and the stories about the elephants were charming- even more-so once you learn they were based on actual elephants and the lives they lived.
I won’t go into detail on the storyline, since it’s a mystery and all, but it is well worth the read. I just downloaded another book by the same author and am hoping to have found a new favorite writer.

Historia
Late Victorian London. When James Miller, the most respectable of Scottish businessmen, is pulled, dead, from the Thames, his daughter is drawn into an investigation which reveals a whole world of secrets and corruption. Alongside local detective Culley, Catriona’s search for her father’s killer leads all the way to the tragic truth behind the ghostly legend of The Darkwater Bride and the power of her deadly kiss. The Darkwater Bride combines the genres of the Victorian mystery thriller with the equally classic Victorian mode of the ghostly tale.

Give it a chance
Revisado: 07-18-19
I’m not sure if I missed a part of the description or something. I was expecting audiobook, this is more of an audio play, with many actors and sound effects and such. I decided to give it a chance, and found I actually enjoyed it! The storyline was a little weak in places, but the actors did a great job and helps to make up for it.
Just keep an open mind if you’re used to regular audiobooks.

Historia
When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early 40s, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils.... Pagford is not what it at first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the town's council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen.

Dark and humbling
Revisado: 09-06-18
Other reviewers saying this was a dark read didn’t prepare me for this one; that is a bit of an understatement. The story is very engaging, the characters all have their quirky qualities and seeing a glimpse of the inner working of each of their minds was quite moving. It just goes to show that what you see on the outside isn’t always the same on the inside. It also shows you that people all have problems, and that perhaps you just need someone to give a crap occasionally; but that usually no matter what happens, people in general only change if they are personally affected.

Cute
Revisado: 06-07-18
The idea was very cute, and I liked the personality of Nosewise. From an adult perspective, the story line was a little weak, but this would make a great story for a young adult to read.
The narrator was very good, and brought a lot of personality to the story. I’d recommend it, as long as you’re not looking for the next epic adventure story.

Excellent!
Revisado: 03-20-18
Marsters is the perfect narrator for the Dresden books. His variety of voices and accents give individuality to each character, and his tones and attitude bring Dresden to life.
The story is classic Butcher- snarky, funny, witty- and a little different.
