Historia
Farmer Giles of Ham did not look like a hero. He was fat and red-bearded and enjoyed a slow, comfortable life. Then one day a rather deaf and short-sighted giant blundered on to his land. More by luck than skill, Farmer Giles managed to scare him away. The people of the village cheered: Farmer Giles was a hero. His reputation spread far and wide across the kingdom. So it was natural that when the dragon Chrysophylax visited the area it was Farmer Giles who was expected to do battle with it!

Fun tale
Revisado: 02-16-23
This is a fun tale with humor. My 8 year old and I enjoyed listening to Farmer Giles of Ham.
My six year old wasn’t a fan yet.
The only complaint I would have is that when the story is told, the narrator is very soft and quiet at some points of the story, but then gets much louder at other spots. If you are in person listening to the story, this wouldn’t be such a big deal. Listening in the car or on Alexa, though, can be challenging. I have to keep turning the volume up and down throughout the story.

Historia
Is there a new reformation happening in the church? It depends on who you ask. The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a popular and fast-growing new movement of Christians who emphasize signs and wonders, and teach that God is giving new revelation through new apostles and prophets. But is this biblical Christianity? In Counterfeit Kingdom, apologists and NAR experts Holly Pivec and Douglas Geivett show how the NAR’s key tenets distort the gospel, twist the Scriptures, are influenced by New Age practices, and lead faithful Christians to shipwreck their faith.

On point
Revisado: 12-09-22
I was unknowingly in a NAR church for about 8 years as a teen and young adult.
Many many years later, I still didn’t understand why I was so conflicted and hurt from that experience until a friend showed me what she found out about NAR.
I’m so grateful Holly and Doug wrote this book to expose the confusion and errors that surround the NAR environment.
Books, such as Counterfeit Kingdom, are very much needed bc scripture is twisted so eloquently at times in NAR.
This book helps to unknot the truth from the lies.

Great for my boys
Revisado: 07-31-22
I have 2 boys who are 5 and 7. They scare easily, but this book is perfect bc it helps them listen to something scary when they know the object (book)isn’t actually scary in real life. Hopefully this will help them not to be so fearful when there is no need to be.
