Interworld is a series of books that actually has a flowchart online. There are so many books, I have just finished this one and it doesn't leave you hanging. The narrator does a really good job with the characters.

Joey Harker isn't a hero. In fact, he's the kind of guy who gets lost in his own house. But then one day, Joey gets really lost. He walks straight out of his world and into another dimension. Joey's walk between the worlds makes him prey to two terrible forces: armies of magic and science who will do anything to harness his power to travel between dimensions.

Very good, and not confusing
Revisado: 08-17-17
I'd had this book in my audio library, but had just not been interested enough to listen to it. Overall the narration was spot-on. The story was easy to follow except when one character used a $3 word I not heard before, but the surrounding dialogue made is all clear.
I'm going to find another one like this.

Such a sad story

That the boy tried to write stories about his experiences.
What other book might you compare Once to and why?

It was more sad I think listening to it. If I'd been reading it I'd not have finished it.

Historia
When Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn't have to imagine it as his last, since he had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. But the lecture he gave - "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" - wasn't about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because "time is all you have... and you may find one day that you have less than you think").

Revisado: 12-29-14
What made the experience of listening to The Spiderwick Chronicles, Volume I the most enjoyable?
It was a very creative story, it just ended too soon.
Would you be willing to try another book from Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black ? Why or why not?
Not unless they are bundled into groups.
Have you listened to any of Mark Hamill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
He is a great narrator, I search for books he has narrated As one of my search parameters when looking for the next great book.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
You would have to make a tv show, or combine the books. They are really short, not like the Harry Potter books which are hours of listening.

Historia
The guru to the gurus at last shares his knowledge with the rest of us. Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman's seminal studies in behavioral psychology, behavioral economics, and happiness studies have influenced numerous other authors, including Steven Pinker and Malcolm Gladwell. In Thinking, Fast and Slow, Kahneman at last offers his own, first book for the general public. It is a lucid and enlightening summary of his life's work. It will change the way you think about thinking. Two systems drive the way we think and make choices, Kahneman explains....

Bought because of a friends recommendations
Revisado: 12-29-14
Where does Thinking, Fast and Slow rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's not a lite listen, but the speaker is slow. I prefer when the narrator speaks more quickly, but that only takes. Little from the book itself. You can always speed up he speech on an I device.
What did you like best about this story?
The story, no, not a story, the book is about the way people think. If you have an unusual thinking style and you think no one else does. Or worse you think everyone around you is slow, read this, it may help you understand how others think.
What does Patrick Egan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Reviewing books like this are hard in that it's not a story as much as someone's thesis. The narrator does a really good job keeping you focused on the book. Some narrators read with such disinterest that the listener has no choice but to become disinterested.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Again,it's Not a story. It's a lecture. And it did make
Me laugh. Maybe because I agreed with some if what he said, and sometimes because he was so wrong( with respect to me.)
Any additional comments?
Listen to it, it may help you understand that odd ball down the hall.

You have to be able to keep up ...
Revisado: 12-29-14
Would you listen to A Visit from the Goon Squad again? Why?
There is not just one story, there are many short stories that all intertwine with each other. Some characters are obvious, others you figure out their role the second or third time you have a listen.
It's a great listen, but my son says it's a better read. With the book it's easy to go back and find where important things happen.
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Visit from the Goon Squad?
The end of the first short story. At hat point you are wondering what about he next 5 hours?
What about Roxana Ortega’s performance did you like?
I actually prefer to listen to my books read by males, but it was easy to understand and not too slow, more to say it was just the right spleen and characterization to not have to rewind to find the voice com the past.
Who was the most memorable character of A Visit from the Goon Squad and why?
Oh gosh, I have no idea.
Any additional comments?
It's a book that if you like I you find yourself listening to it again and again. If you get lost after the second chapter, it's not a book for you.

Historia
A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. He is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock. Forty years earlier, a man committed suicide in a stolen car at this farm at the end of the road. Like a fuse on a firework, his death lit a touchpaper and resonated in unimaginable ways. The darkness was unleashed, something scary and thoroughly incomprehensible to a little boy. And Lettie - magical, comforting, wise beyond her years - promised to protect him, no matter what.

Not what I was expecting, in a good way.
Revisado: 09-22-13
If you could sum up The Ocean at the End of the Lane in three words, what would they be?
Unexpected entertaining beautiful
Who was your favorite character and why?
The black cat named Ocean. She was there to make the worst days better.
What about Neil Gaiman’s performance did you like?
His ability to change voices in mid sentence. Also, he reads at a good speed, some readers read to slowly, but Neil reads just about right.
Who was the most memorable character of The Ocean at the End of the Lane and why?
The narrator. I can't remember if anyone ever used his name in the book, nick names and slang names. He was the 7 year old book nerd that I see often in my work with kids. They are very bright and have vivid imaginations from the reality they invent in their minds from the books they have read.
Any additional comments?
The Ocean at the end of the lane is an adult novel for adults who remember being kids, or are still kids. Its a fantasy of remembering the magical things that happen as a kid and some of the pain also. The birthday party no one comes to, the wonderful friends that you meet for a very short time before they disappear and the pets that make bad things better.
I think the book is just right. If you are expecting American Gods with super deep, detailed characters that are built up over hundreds of pages, this is not for you. Its a fun book about remembering, if only for a brief time, what life was like some time ago when you were a kid.

Any additional comments?
This book is equal to the other books in the Dragon series. They are all awesome and really fun to listen to, The narration is wonderful with great voices so you really can believe the whole cast is there. This was the 4th book in the series I listened to and have the other 4 on my ipod now waiting for the chance to escape into my head.
I Highly recommend this series to anyone young at heart.
