A couple of petty gripes though, all of the Asian characters are consistently referred to as Oriental. I'm pretty sure Asian is the correct name.
Also, and this term is used a lot, the thing that holds the bullets is called a magazine not a clip..

could have beed a great audiobook but to me the narrator was difficult to listen to. Really bad at accents and all but 1 character in the book are from countries other than the US. Im going to read the remaining books in the series.

By far the best author in the genre. great narration perfect for the story. i did enjoy the original cast a little more and wish JA would add some stories to that era but I'll take what i can get. please keep them coming.
WARNING:
if you have never read Abercrombie maybe dont start, after you do no other fantasy will quite satisfy.

not sure yet what to say. it was different than expected. overall I enjoyes the story and most of the characters. that said some of the characters reactions during "an apocalypse" didnt make any sence to me. i suppose that would certainly be true in real life however i expect in different ways. anyway, give it a try.

i really liked this book. new author for me. narration was good. im a military fiction fan. this qas detail on the mol side but better that than done poorly like so many other. im going to read whatever i can find of his.

"he flicked off the safety on his glock"

Then later in the book, "its not the 22 your used to, its a glock 19, it has a 17 round mag and no safety". Such simple details to get wrong especially as the author uses the moniker Mars, assumingly comparing himself to the god of war.

Also, personally, turned off by the Great Man type of military thriller. besides the ridiculous name, Kent Steel, the idea of a single person and his pistol battling hords of rifle equipped enemy, i personally just dont get it.

All my gripes aside, it wasn't a bad story and I will likey read or listen to the rest of the series assuming i can buy them at a discount. I believe this is a $7.00 book.

Searching online, i can find no personal details about the author. I would suggest he either do more research in weapons and tactics or hire a consultant. The interweb generally agrees he writes a Mitch Rap with depth. I am not convinced, seems pretty typical to me.

not what i expected from the description. looked at other books by author about half way through and saw a lot of covers with large men bare chested. That said i didnt suck.

so, not at all inline with the Apoch/Cole books but really good. Doesn't feel like the same series, not better or worse just different.
