This is a good story.
When a man goes out of his way to create a scenario in order to draw the woman he adores to him, what happens when the truth (or half truth) is revealed? Will all he has done for her be enough to prove his love despite the lies? Will love prevail or will she be unable to see the bigger picture?

If you are familiar with this series, you know Spider's story, or most of it. In this story you meet Reyna, an Italian woman who was born into a Mafia family & has experienced ALL that entails, including being married off to a Sociopath at 16 years old for the advantageousness of the family.

She spent years in hell, but came out on the other side a widow, a "beast", a BOSS! The story line is great, the characters well developed, the carnage just right. You get to see a different side of Spider as he and Reyna clash at first sight. Their interactions (verbal spars) are deliciously palpable.

All the characters from this series make cameo appearances, but it is the development of Spider and Reyna's relationship that holds you captive.

Well worth reading. Enjoy 😉

Wow! unconventional, but riveting.

Not you typical love story, but intriguing none the less. Sexy alpha male, strong heroine (for the most part). Interesting story elements.
Definitely a winner.

As a true fan of Suzanne Wright's shifter series, I am always pleased her "human" books are just as well-written.

Worth listening!

Initially I thought the narrator was monotone and a bit flat, but to my surprised great pleasure, the story evolves like a well written scripted with each character speaking their own scenes throughout the story. The characters are engaging and the storyline was refreshing. The female lead, Lisa, is a mother of two who stands her ground despite the seemingly insurmountable challenges that face her. She is a lioness!
The male lead, Grim, is a warrior of worth who, unfortunately, has been convinced he is less due to the battle scars that mar his body. Lisa rectifies this situation.
I don't want to spoil the story like so many do in their reviews by telling, so I will say that there is intrigue, misunderstandings, enlightenment, deception, love, happiness, and joy that you, the listener, will experience along with the characters.
I hope you enjoy.
P.s. Lisa puts a lot of arrogant people in their places. Even the malicious queen "B" of the story 💓

Enjoyable read. Well developed characters,.

Great series. The characters pull you in, the story is well developed and easy to follow. There is romance, heartbreak, misunderstandings, intrigue, a crazy bff who has your back and is willing to kick butt on behalf of her friend, when said best friend isn't busy keeping her out of jail. It's a well rounded story worth reading (listening). Enjoy!

Great Read!

I'm a fan of all of Suzanne Wright's books and this one did not disappoint. It is well written with well developed characters. My one disappointment is the new readers mimic of the male characters voices is weak. I guess I'll have to learn to tolerate it, but I miss Jill Redfield reading. But despite this, the story is worth a listen.
