Historia
Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade.

What stood out the most was the ham fisted way an LGBTQIA+ facet was shoehorned into the storyline.
Revisado: 03-11-25
I really enjoyed how Dalinar and Adolin grew in this story, each being forced to adapt to massive changes in circumstances. The story with Kaladin was really surprising and did not go the way I thought it would. Very enjoyable!
As I said above though, the move from a story with a nod here and there to the LGBTQIA+ community to it being a central part of a what seems like about 1/5th of the book felt jarring and unnatural and was an unnecessary distraction. It sticks out like a sore thumb because in all the pervious books there were tiny hints and nods, but this volume is gushing with it in an overt way with characters who never hinted at this previously, so it feels forced and peachy instead of natural. It reads like what happens when a movie producer makes the writers take a side character and make them LGBTQIA+ just to checkmark the box that they have such a character playing an important role in the story, not caring that it distracts from the story instead of enhancing it because they prioritize "representation" instead of story. I'm sorry to say that even Brandon Sanderson, one of my favorite authors, can't take this trope and make it feel natural.
Just because someone tells you that's what the kids are into these days is never a good justification to add anything to a story.

A Spectacular Must Read Adventure!!
Revisado: 06-11-12
What made the experience of listening to Outcast of Redwall the most enjoyable?
The fact that the story is narrated by the Author and his associates makes this audiobook one of the most enjoyable I've ever heard! Tie that in with a fantastic story and acting along with songs and poems makes this audiobook a must for any reader!
What did you like best about this story?
This story is the one that got me to enjoy reading in the first place! Until I read this book, I hated reading, the normal predictable plots of children's books left a sour taste in my mouth. When I was assigned this book by a teacher, I looked at how thick it was and absolutely dreaded reading it; however, once I actually started reading it I was swept into an epic of daring adventure, endearing characters, great battles, great humor, and sorrowful events, making it the first book that made my heart cheer and cry and laugh and leap. The tale of Sunflash the Mace and his faithful kestrel companion Skarlath is one that I would ever wish to share with those around me, both young and old alike!
