Great.
Revisado: 02-03-19
Another great installment to the series. Thron is a master narrator, and the perfect selection for these works. I guess if you are thinking about listening to Book 9 of a series you probably allready know that though. I guess all I could say useful to someone on the fence is Hutchison doesn't ruin the series or anything so jump in. If you are reading this and are new to the series start at Book 1.

If you know the original series you will LOVE this series. Thron is great in these as well. I really wasnt that excited about this even though I really enjoy Space Team. Offshoots are usually a disappointment. NOT HERE. I think I like this series even more. Give it a shot.

Historia
Cal Carver's space team is broke. When they pick up a distress signal from a luxury space cruiser, they think their luck might be about to change. And it does; sadly, not in the way they'd hoped. Someone has detonated a time bomb aboard the cruiser - an experimental device designed to shatter time itself. As the team passes through the fragments, their personal timelines begin moving at very different speeds, and an ageing Cal is forced to live out decades aboard the ship surrounded by his now statuelike crewmates and the mutated, inbred descendants of the cruiser's former inhabitants.

Fantastic!!!
Revisado: 06-06-18
This is a great series. I can't wait for more. Books 1 & 2 are a solid beginning, but had me wandering if this was going to be stories I've heard just re-arranged. Nope just some nods to classic ideas and off to an original story. Fun. There is a definite maturing in books 3 & 4. I'm not going into plot details here, if you like sci-fi at all, buy and enjoy. SERIES LIKE THESE WHY YOU HAVE AUDIBLE.
Luke Daniels is masterful. I enjoyed his work before I listened to these but now he is definitely a favorite. His voices are top notch and his characterizations are genius, even minor characters stand out. He also has great timing especially with humor which I appreciate a ton. If his name is on narration from here on I will definitely have to give it a shot.

Historia
Colonel Joe Bishop made a promise and he's going to keep it; taking the captured alien starship Flying Dutchman back out. He doesn't agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool's errand he doesn't expect to ever return from. At least, this time, the Earth is safe, right? Not so much.

So repetitive. So repetitive. So terrible.
Revisado: 12-13-17
This book repeats itself so many times it seems like a joke. After a while I was just listening in amazement just to see if it would continue on repeat or the author would move along with the story. It does and they didn't. Its a shame to see such an interesting and well constructed universe with strong likeable characters be totally trashed. I loved Joe in book 1 but he is so one dimensional in book 2. His only motivation is self sacrifice, to the point of absurdity. Skippy? Terrible. Oh, and then there is lots if new characters that get introduced, and that's it. They really aren't involved in the story. Maybe Joe has a conversation with one or two that really doesn't go anywhere or move the plot. So disappointing. Its like when a studio cashes in on a successful movie with a low budget sequel and makes it look like the original. The only good choice for this audiobook was hiring R.C. Bray. Won't wast my time on book 3.
The performance is great. There should be another option to the right of the fifth star that just says Bray.

Grab it!! Worth the credit or cash.
Revisado: 08-18-17
I love this story. Well paced with plenty of action and good ole science fun. It's not so nerd-ily scientific as to be boring, but interesting and accurate. I would love to elaborate on that but I don't want to spoil anything. Cole did his research. The near to end was a little flat for me, between the characters. At the end of the book I felt like they still didn't really know each other. While explainable it didn't feel as though the lemon was totally squeezed. But ends with a nice cliffhanger. This has so much potential it's exciting.
Bray can only make something better.
I believe this is the first time I've heard Whelan but now she is one of my favorite female voices.
I also thought the intro music was a great touch. Gave me that nice feeling of anticipation like being at a theatre waiting for the big movie of the year to begin.

Suicide Squad meets Galaxy Quest, in this fast-paced, laugh-out-loud novel from the author the Independent calls, "the new Terry Pratchett." After saving an alien race and its god from a sentient zombie virus, Cal Carver and the crew of the Dread Ship Shatner are feeling pretty pleased with themselves. Unfortunately, the creator of the zombie virus is out for revenge, and has recruited the galaxy's deadliest - and oldest - assassin, Lady Vajazzle, to hunt Space Team down.
