Historia
Antonio Gramsci was born in Sardinia in 1891, became the leader of the Italian Communist Party in his early 30s, was arrested by Mussolini’s police in 1927, and remained imprisoned until shortly before his death 10 years later. The posthumous publication of his Prison Notebooks established him as a major thinker whose influence continues to increase. Fiori’s biography enlarges upon the facts of Gramsci’s life through personal accounts, and through Gramsci’s own writings to relatives and friends.

Great story of Gramsci’s personal life

Loved the letters pieced together in chronological order. Almost as if you heard him talk face to face with who he wrote his letters to.

Historia
Washington Bullets is written in the best traditions of Marxist journalism and history-writing. It is a book of fluent stories, full of detail about US imperialism, but never letting the minutiae obscure the larger political point. It is a book that could easily have been a song of despair - a lament of lost causes; it is, after all, a roll call of butchers and assassins; of plots against people's movements and governments; of the assassinations of socialists, Marxists, communists all over the Third World by the country where liberty is a statue.

Only 1/4 of the book was trump
Revisado: 04-20-18
The book was at first about comey as a young guy and his upbringing, when he starts talking about bush and cheney it’s insane to hear the dialogue and the tough decisions leadership had to make, the stuff with Obama was cool too. Comey really seems fair to all people. Even to trump. At one point he says he purposely looked at trumps hands to see if they were small and they were normal sized. This book is far more than his time with trump, I would say it’s a great view into the FBI and how it’s goal is to not get drug into politics. Everyone who is politically active should absolutely read this. My eyes were very much opened.

Historia
This groundbreaking book from Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Frances FitzGerald is the first to tell the powerful, dramatic story of the Evangelical movement in America - from the Puritan era to the 2016 presidential election. Evangelicals have, in many ways, defined the nation. They have shaped our culture and our politics. Frances FitzGerald's narrative of this distinctively American movement is a major work of history, piecing together the centuries-long story for the first time.

Amazing detail!
Revisado: 04-03-18
This book should be read be anyone curious about the marriage between Christianity and the republicans. It’s very accurate and reminded me of so many things I was raised to believe, and exposed how backwards and power hungry the religious right was. A great book a great read! So glad I listened to this!

Historia
In The Half Has Never Been Told, historian Edward E. Baptist reveals the alarming extent to which slavery shaped our country politically, morally, and most of all, economically. Until the Civil War, our chief form of innovation was slavery. Through forced migration and torture, slave owners extracted continual increases in efficiency from their slaves, giving the country a virtual monopoly on the production of cotton, a key raw material of the Industrial Revolution.

The book opened my eyes to the horrors of our nations history. It really destroyed any excuses for americas past. And made me even more sick to my stomach about our current struggles with the past now in my mind

Historia
Trained as an evangelical Bible scholar, Peter Enns loved the Scriptures and shared his devotion by teaching at Westminster Theological Seminary. But the further he studied the Bible, the more he found himself confronted by questions that could neither be answered within the rigid framework of his religious instruction nor be accepted among the conservative evangelical community.

Great book
Revisado: 12-18-15
I found this book to be helpful in my thoughts about Christianity, if you think you're right and you know it all and get the bible then don't read it, it'll piss you off. But if you have doubts and questions it's a great book for you on your journey
