Historia
A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. He is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock. Forty years earlier, a man committed suicide in a stolen car at this farm at the end of the road. Like a fuse on a firework, his death lit a touchpaper and resonated in unimaginable ways. The darkness was unleashed, something scary and thoroughly incomprehensible to a little boy. And Lettie - magical, comforting, wise beyond her years - promised to protect him, no matter what.

Practically Perfect in Every Way
Revisado: 11-05-16
I am a big NG fan, but I have avoided this book because it is relatively short (I like long, epic tales). I'm glad that I chose this book despite that.
The story itself is quite good, but the writing is that of a practiced master, and is wonderfully immersive. NG has also been doing a great job of narrating his work, which isn't always the best choice for some authors.
I enjoyed the imagery and the state of mind that I was put into by the way the story was told, which is exactly what I like when diving into a novel.
I highly recommend this book.

Another Great Installment of a Well Crafted Story
Revisado: 09-17-15
If you've gotten this far, you're probably already hooked on this series. This book follows 'The Desert Spear' and is a solid addition to the first two books. It has some great plot twists. Definitely leaves you wanting to know what happens next (which is probably the point).
All in all, totally worth your time.

Good Story, Great Performance
Revisado: 09-10-15
This is a great series. I really enjoyed E.W. Robertson's writing style which plays a big part in the overall storytelling aspect.
I wish I could give the story 3.5 stars, because it was decent. I don't think it rates a 4 because of the sometimes excessive wanderings in the plot. I think that can be excused because this is actually three books in one, overall a very satisfying listen.
65 hours well spent.
