Historia
Romance can be a little complicated when you get sucked into a wormhole. Just ask high school English teacher June Flint. One little solar flare happens and suddenly you find yourself 85 years in the future. Eighty-five years from your dream job. Your ailing mother whose only companion in this world is you. Your favorite stuffed-crust pizza from DeLucia’s on Sunday nights. But when June’s cell phone inexplicably picks up a signal, she’s able to call back to the present—more specifically, four weeks before she accidentally time traveled.

Cute Well Performed Story
Revisado: 07-31-24
This was a fun story. I enjoyed the self introspection and character development of the two main characters, but I felt like the supporting characters, the Dr Einstein (steen) in particular had too many gaps or were a little too stereotypical and lacked a little something. I wish there was a little more explanation about what happened when June got to the future and why June was willing to just stay sequestered for 5 years and didn’t even try to leave the apartment, that felt unlikely/unrealistic even for a shy people pleaser like her. The story was still fun and thoughtful, and a great light listen. I always appreciate a story with a cast and there was definitely good chemistry between the voice actors. It was well performed and just what I needed after a few heavier books.

Okay
Revisado: 12-22-23
Like all the other Willoughby Close books the theme of everyone has a story and deserves love is prevalent. I feel like the characters didn’t have as much dimension as in the first two books.

Excellently performed
Revisado: 11-09-23
I really enjoyed the histories, I felt like there were several stories or information that were left out and random side stories that were added that didn’t feel like they added to the history of things more her personal viewpoints on certain things. I would definitely listen to it again, but I felt like there were some things that were missing that at least to me have been fairly common knowledge as to origins. But I did learn a lot.

Hallmark film kind of book
Revisado: 11-01-23
This book was like listening to a Hallmark movie. It was cute and cheesy, and I don’t regret listening. But the storyline and the character development was definitely very cheesy, stereotypical, and predictable. Great for a light listen but not believable at all.

A book that begs to be an audio book
Revisado: 02-05-20
Listening to this as an audiobook REALLY enhanced the experience of the story, as there is a youth orchestra that plays all the music and it is very well performed. I listened with my 13, almost 11 and 8 year olds. We all loved it. I loved the realness and development of the characters. There were definitely some great plot twists and some predictable moments too. The book ended with enough resolution to be a stand alone novel but enough intrigue to have this become a series. My kids and I are hoping for the latter.

Excellent radio dramatization
Revisado: 09-13-17
I am only deducting a star because I hadn't realized that these were radio adaptations/abridgements rather than the books read with a full cast. Maybe I am blind, I don't feel like that was clear. These were excellent radio dramatizations though, the cast was phenomenal and I love how they even used some music that was composed by Jane Austen herself.
