Historia
In this valuable and revealing anthology, cultural critic and best-selling author Roxane Gay collects original and previously published pieces that address what it means to live in a world where women have to measure the harassment, violence, and aggression they face, and where they are "routinely second-guessed, blown off, discredited, denigrated, besmirched, belittled, patronized, mocked, shamed, gaslit, insulted, bullied" for speaking out. Contributions include essays from established and up-and-coming writers, performers, and critics.

Much needed when invalidation is so rampant

I highly recommend this book to anyone doubting whether their experience “counts.” My own experiences have all left me feeling silly for labeling them r***, and it was so connecting and humanizing to listen to all of these accounts of people with ranging experiences and to know I’m not alone in my feelings. Most stories focus so heavily on the really violent cases, and this did not. I think it reaches a much, much wider audience of people. Thank you!

La Luz del Mundo has been called the world’s largest cult that no one has ever heard of. Sochil Martin grew up inside it. Her harrowing true story to escape and seek justice is an epic that exposes alleged crimes of biblical proportions.

Accurate Psychology
Revisado: 11-10-22
As a doctoral student of psychology and counseling, and studying mind-altering techniques and insidious control, I appreciate the accurate portrayal of the true existential conflicts these characters faced and the experts brought in to help the audience understand. More people need to understand the way people can be controlled in their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and actions by malevolent people. Thank you for putting this out there!
