An unbelievable imagination!

After listening to this novel, it’s clear that as adults we still love fairy tales, that we’re never too old to get lost in those wonderful stories that we loved as children. Was I surprised that Stephen King could write this epic fairy tale - not at all. I’m 75 and have been a constant reader of his since he started. And it was truly EPIC. And I must add that as much as I love Will Patton as a frequent narrator of SK novels, and other good ones too, the narrator on this novel is my new favorite! Seth Numrich was amazing! He used so many different voices for different characters and each so very believable that it made listening to this 24+ hours long novel something that I looked forward to each day.

Another great Bosch novel but this narrator’s voice is very hard to get use to. I really wish they could have stayed with Dick Hill who read the first five novels.

Brian Freeman is amazing!

Well I was sad when I finished listening to all of Brian Freeman’s Jonathan Stride novels - all read by Joe Barrett. I thought they were all brilliantly written - the mystery of each well concealed until the end. So I decided to try this one, the first Cab Bolton novel also read by Joe Barrett. And to my joy it is just as good and exciting as all his other books. I am hooked by the way he weaves the mysteries and characters to make great thrillers. And Mr. Barrett makes each one a special treat to listen to.

Will Patton great - story so so

Me anyway. I have been with him since Salem’s Lot and have enjoyed everything he’s written. Some of course are much better than others and this one falls in the upper 60%. It’s graphic in places but has to be for the story. My biggest plus is the narration of Will Patton - he is excellent! If you’ve listened to other SK novels on audible you’ve heard him in all three Mr. Mercedes trilogy series- also Dr. Sleep. As a SK constant reader, I highly recommend The Outsider.

You really need to read these Fixer novels in order. The characters are meticulously built through each progressing novel. Ms. Woods is a master at that. And the story line just gets bigger and better. From this book 5 in the series I can hardly wait to start on book 6 and it appears to be the last. I certainly hope that is not the case. This series is a great listen.

If you love a good old fashioned ghost story -this is it. The story was delightful but the narrator made it perfect. His voice and Susan Hill’s use of the English language - the true, old language was such a good listen that I highly recommend it.

A Great mystery/thriller

A very enjoyable listen that kept me guessing until the very end. Too many in this genre are predictable early on and then a let down. But this book does not do that and you will enjoy trying to figure out “who dunnit”. I haven’t checked yet but hope there are more John Stride novels. He is a haunted hero but very likable.

A great historical fiction book, fun and intriguing

The story was great with flashbacks from present day to renaissance Italy - nicely done. It's part mystery, part family drama, part mythology and some fantasy. But what really makes this Audible great is David Colacci - the narrator. He seems to have a mastery of multiple languages - Italian, French, German and even Latin. All are used with ease and translated for us by him. But all are an integral parts of the story and make it so listenable. I really enjoyed this novel.
