Historia
When COVID-19 sweeps through New York City, Jamie Gray is stuck as a dead-end driver for food-delivery apps. That is, until Jamie makes a delivery to an old acquaintance, Tom, who works at what he calls “an animal rights organization”. Tom’s team needs a last-minute grunt to handle things on their next field visit. Jamie, eager to do anything, immediately signs on. What Tom doesn't tell Jamie is that the animals his team cares for are not here on Earth. Not our Earth, at at least. In an alternate dimension, dinosaur-like creatures named Kaiju roam a warm and human-free world.

Great story but has unnecessary blatantly political commentary
Revisado: 01-03-25
I really like this book and it is worth reading but you're going to probably be annoyed by the unnecessary and blatantly political side commentary which certainly has not aged well. Basically there's some diatribes about the author's viewpoint on then former President Trump that did not age well during the years of Biden and the re-election of Trump. It doesn't specifically name Trump but... it's clearly about Trump from a leftist Trump derangement syndrome sufferer.
It's probably going to be annoying even to people on the left because the narratives didn't survive the last 4 years and sounds silly today. I guess it has some historic value because it preserves the conspiracy theories that were going around on the left at the time.
That said, again, the core story is great but just be ready to ignore that part regardless of which side you're on.

Hilarious and Novel
Revisado: 03-21-24
It's great book if you want to laugh and listen to stupid antics. I mean that in a good way. I absolutely adored Everybody Loves A Large Chests for the character Boxxy. This book carries on with a similar style of mimic intelligence. The narrator is insanely good at just making you laugh with the ridiculous things to the chest will say.
it's of course good start out with the ridiculously underpowered MC. That's every LitRPG.
I felt I need add, the MC is legitimately naive. You can expect him to have some angst in this book. He is coming to terms with what he has to do. I have noticed some review saying that makes him evil. I do not recall him doing anything directly evil. He lives in a morally gray world, not a black and white one. By the logic of some of the other reviewers, every adventurer is always evil because the monsters in this book are more like animals that are overly intelligent that are really actually just trying to eat and survive. He's not badass, He's probably going to be badass eventually but not yet. It is a bit of a tired trope for main characters to be instantly badass. I kind of like the main character being semi naive and having to work to keep up the learning curve. Also, I've noticed some people complaining that he's not relying on his own strength. This is untrue because the combination of mimic and main character is not a pairing that can be undone. They are literally one creature at this point due to the weird way they are joined.
Anyway, it's just fun. Give it a shot

Historia
Today is the day that I, Luciano Fjorborn, First Paladin of Berella, go out into Yurnip County to push back the forces of darkness with a few vigorous thrusts of my mighty lance! Who’s Berella? Why, she’s the goddess of love, tenderness, and hot rumpy-pumpy, of course! As her loyal servant, it is my mission to go out of my cloister and show the world Berella’s divine love. Repeatedly. And in multiple positions! But it’s a cruel world out there, especially for a Paladin who doesn’t believe in violence.

The book is ridiculous, but it's a laugh fest. Clueless main character as usual. Maybe a little more clueless than usual. He is a bit beta at least in the beginning...

He has the ability to modify any item he owns; to upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. At least, that was until Felix leveraged a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give himself a great deal of points. Investing in Super Heroes and Super Villains and owning them. Using them, Felix built up an empire: an organization by the name of Legion.

Great addition but...
Revisado: 06-28-23
I only have one real complaint... and it's cumulative over the series. Felix is the master businessman but he consistently spouts socialist or antibusiness attitudes. He repeatedly assumes that destroying large "insured" businesses won't hurt anyone because large business is inherently bad but he won't hurt small businesses. I get that crony capitalism and corporate corruption are real world issues. That said, I can't tell if this is the author's view that all large businesses are inherently bad or if it's supposed to be Felix's anger at being a mid level drone for years. In any case, it's a bit tiresome.

Historia
Roark von Graf built a nation on the bodies of griefed players and disgruntled mobs who wanted him dead. He grinded his way up to the level cap of the Troll Evolutionary Path and made powerful underhanded alliances along the way, but even all of that isn’t enough to defeat the Tyrant King’s right-hand mage, Lowen, and the Divine armies of the most powerful dungeon in the game. When Lowen and the Vault of the Radiant Shield go on the attack, Roark’s only hope of survival lies in the stolen World Stone Pendant and its mysterious transmutation magic.

Historia
For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

Wait for book 5 and read together (some spoilers)
Revisado: 04-09-19
Currently, the book is just frustrating.
This series has a habit of ending on cliff hangers but this one is too much. It's not a bad book. It's probably GOING to be one of the better in the series once another book is added ..., but not right now.
The problem is that it ends at what would otherwise be a great progressive complication or crisis stage in a complete book (stages 2 and 3 of the 5 main stages).
Outline is: A BUNCH of subplots arise and are dealt with and the war progresses (sort of). Then, the main character loses everything that matters to him and then it's to be continued. It's almost like the first half of a two part episode of a TV series (eg season finally), not a complete episode or even a episode of a story arc.
Other issue is the love drama drags and becomes tediously childish before abruptly ending in her desertion and engagement to another in the last chapter or 2.
If you are like me, you wanted the love drama put out of its misery anyway since the love interest was ultimately not maturing enough to aid Rez in understanding his feelings and becoming functional (not that he really needs as much as everyone thinks, just to be able to interpret and accept).
If book 5 includes wishy-washy love drama that returns her to Rez, I will jump ship. It will be a model abusive relationship at that point.
He needs a new and useful love interest or to go monk, no more dead horse mistreatment.
In summary, if the story included 5 or 6 more hours to give a climax and resolution to the drama that left the reader feeling like something was accomplished and the story had reach plateau, it would be a much better book.
Hopefully, book 5 will advance the plot and then book 4 will become a great first half of a two part episode. As it stands, it is just frustrating.

Revisado: 02-15-19
Instead of getting weaker or running out of ideas in book 3 like a lot of other authors, Hugo has set a new standard for his own series. He manages multiple character perspectives in a way that is truly spellbinding. You will be left desperately wanting him to hurry up and write book for.
