Historia
Early Christianity was subversive and dangerous - dangerous for Christians, and a threat to the keepers of the old order. Most of all Christianity was countercultural. But what about contemporary American Christianity? Is it the countercultural way of Jesus or merely a religious endorsement of Americanism? In his provocative audiobook, Postcards From Babylon, Brian Zahnd challenges the listener to see and embrace a daring Jesus-centered Christianity that can again turn the world upside down.

could have been a 5 star but....
Revisado: 12-14-21
The first three chapters are priceless gems that have the potential to be life-changing concepts but in chapter 4 of the audiobook, he becomes a raging angry madman and political propagandist. His conclusions from his supporting ideas are erroneous at best and show his age of living through republican America of the last century and the biases that come from it. He bashes the rightwing on every angle and so should they be called to the rug on issues of truth but giving only a couple of reprimands to the left. His supporting ideas are so right on till you find out it's a sneaky way to get you agreeing to leftist policy without consciously committing to the left ideology. I love the rest of his books and he is an immensely powerful and insightful speaker I'd like to think it was not done on purpose to attack every foundation of western culture and become an echo chamber for leftist policy and the anger in his voice as he attacked the bible with was a little unsettling. even for someone like me who does not believe the Bible is the infallible word of God Whether this is done on purpose or just from personal bias and personal experience, but I'd be incredibly careful about being romanced by his ideas till you think about the practical application and efficacy of his ideology being able to take us into the future of heaven on earth. I now agree with his nonviolence stance, so I am thankful for showing this amazing kingdom revelation and will endeavor to let that grow and flower in my life. This should have been a 5-star book with bonus points, but I so disagreed with his conclusions and condescending attitude I just could not do it. I may even agree with him on how it should be in a perfect world and even his application up to a certain point is the way it should be but in a fallen world being played by fallen rules nothing is as it should be and until we bring down this system of world government it will not be a reality but how we get there may be e a whole other story

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

I bet this author feels stupid in 2019
Revisado: 11-15-19
there is some good history in the beginning chapters but you already feel the slant of the authors belief system coloring history. he seems to have major Zionist sympathies and has no ability to connect the dots. he flings the antisemetic pc culture buzz line around like candy as well as has a huge political bias against freedom thinking people and the John Birch Society. he also has leftist leaning climate control ideas his conclusions are much less truthful and way less relevant in 2019 then the protocols of Zion he labels as disinformation .this work does not stand the test does not stand the test of time ! the very things he argues against are upon us now

Historia
Jesus and the Book of Acts are the standard of normal Christianity. Remember the fad a few years ago when people wore bracelets reminding them, "What Would Jesus Do?" Christians state that Jesus is the example of how to live, yet this has been limited in many cases to how we view our moral character.
