HIGH-IMPACT LEADERSHIP LESSONS AT ITS HIGHEST!
Revisado: 08-06-18
I listened to this book after seeing the author at a recent speaking engagement at which she appeared. Though not a mountain climber myself, I found the adventure combined with the leadership lessons to be exciting, amazing and very well expressed.
Ms. Levine does a great job of teaching a different leadership lesson in each chapter while bringing her high climbing experiences down to Earth for most managers and leaders to utilize.
Some of the lessons I found most interesting were "Fear is fine but complacency will kill you", "Teamwork is about looking out for one another, helping one another, and winning together." "It's your job to help people be the greatest," "When you show up, ready to take on a challenge, you'd better bring it," "Failure in and of itself is not a bad thing. But failing to learn from it is inexcusable," "You need to develop a strong team by allowing others to lead," and "Sometimes you do have to go backward--away from your destination--in order to reach it...going down does not mean you're losing ground, but rather strengthening the foundation of your effort." That's just a sampling of the valuable lessons packed into this amazing book.
Every story she tells is related to a life and leadership experience she learned during her various climbing and skiing expeditions, especially featuring her 2002 experience leading an all women's climbing team on Mt. Everest. The experiences she conveys and lessons learned are exciting and valuable to everyone who manages others or works on a team.
I highly recommend it!

A perfect mix of leadership and life experience!
Revisado: 11-21-17
I was very impressed with Helen Rothberg's book, "The Perfect Mix: Everything I Know About Leadership I Learned as a Bartender". Each chapter begins with a story from Ms. Rothberg;s bartending career, illustrating important lessons of leadership--action, determination, vision, integrity, communication, empathy, and authenticity and follows it with a later example from her life as a management consultant. The stories are very well told with lessons very well illustrated. It was a very inspirational journey into leadership well worth exploring. Listen to it and enjoy--Cheers!

In his new audiobook, The Heart-Led Leader, Spaulding turns his focus to ourselves - to who we are. Authentic leaders, Spaulding says, live and lead from the heart. The values and principles that guide our lives and shape our ability to lead others is far more important than our titles or our ability to crunch numbers or the impressive degrees we display on our walls. To effect true transformational change, heart-led leaders draw on the qualities of humility, vulnerability, transparency, empathy, and love.
