I was very word-y talking about the last two books, so I will just say. There was not a single time throughout all of this I wasn't wanting to bust out laughing, stop what I was doing and just rest and really absorb the moment, or both. I can't be happier that I got into this series, and this author. I hope Chuck reads these reviews cuz I hope he knows, this was one of the most if not the most spectacular trilogies I have ever experienced. sorry this still ended up being wordy, but I have found there's just too much good things to say.

I can only hope you are ready to truly feel the tragedies and the victories of this guys life, cuz when he succeeds and he is with his friends oh man is it some of the best most cathartic wins I have felt. But by that same token, oh man, does it hurt when he feels the tragedies and loss. Nothing else to say, besides telling you, be ready to go on this journey with Coel. While you can prepare yourself for what's going to happen in this one, you're gonna watch as every gut wrenching twist hits Coel harder than the last. The story only goes on from here and it's going to be good.

A flawed man who is surrounded by good friends who aren't afraid to tell him his faults, and to help him change.

Whole heartedly and honestly, I enjoyed this far more than I thought I would. Coel is an excellent flawed protagonist. He is an ass throughout most of the book, but as you learn more of his story and more of his heart -- well for me personally I looked at the saga of his life as "Without condeming nor condoning, I understand." and frankly, the fact I could say that about a character and really feel that sentiment made me realize I loved this book. He screws up, alot, sometimes on purpose and sometimes on accident but it all just made the story better by the end. He does take steps to become better, then he takes strides as the series goes on. The story was already good but the graphic audio made this into an epic that i will genuinely think about for a very, very long time. Pick it up, I beg of you and someone make some dang fan art for this series already.

The story structure and narration swing from funny character dialogue and interactions to eerily foreboading and unsettling descriptions of creatures and events that create an interestingly written and told book throughout. Definitely my favorite series i've listened to.
