Under the watchful eye of the government elite, he is tasked with understanding an exotic propulsion system being used by an advanced aerospace vehicle he is told came from outer space. The stressful work and long, odd hours start to wear on Bob and he becomes concerned for his safety. Complete fiction
Revisado: 02-13-25
I wanted to believe the lazar story. But I find it hard. There are just way too many details for something that happened years before this was written. Details about lunches and people and discussions. Interactions. Complete fiction which tells me this guy is a storyteller. A dreamer who wants to be famous. I believe his Take it or leave it persona is an act. He’s a goof to me.

Historia
Daisy is a girl coming of age in LA in the late '60s, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s 20, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne.

Boring. The series was better,
Revisado: 06-11-24
I've read plenty of biographies of the bands in the 70's etc. The non-fiction books are much better than this dramatic made up story supposedly based on real type story lines. I just found the firsthand true stories more interesting. try the audiobooks. hotel california, bring it on home, all the books by pamela des barres, thanks a lot mr kibblewright. daltry. those all tell a very compelling story. much better than this daisy dribble. you're welcome

Historia
John Gregory Bourke served General George Crook for 15 years and was his right-hand man. This work is an account of his time with the legendary US Army officer in the post-Civil War West. On the Border with Crook is a written recollection of Crook’s campaigns during the American Indian Wars. Bourke makes the American frontier come alive with his description. He also included descriptions not only of Crook and his fellow cavalrymen, but also of legendary Native American leaders. Bourke argues that Crook etched his name into the annals of American history.

Fantastic documentary. hidden gem.
Revisado: 08-26-23
I have read probably 20 books on the 1800's native american campaigns. This book is amongst the best. It is written as first hand account as the author was not only a writer but also a decorated captain in crooks detail. While this book is about crook and his indian fighting career. It reallly is a documentary of the late 1800's and life in the west at that time. The book is written like a documentary with many details I hadn't come across in other books on the period and locale. He describes what people wore, how they lived, the struggles etc. If you are a history buff, as I am, you won't regret this book.

Historia
From the glamorous to the entitled, from royalty to the financially ruined, everyone who wanted to be seen—or just to gawk—at the hottest restaurants in New York City came to places Michael Cecchi-Azzolina helped run. His phone number was passed around among those who wanted to curry favor, during the decades when restaurants replaced clubs and theater as, well, theater in the most visible, vibrant city in the world. Besides dropping us back into a vanished time, Your Table Is Ready takes us places we’d never be able to get into on our own.

terribly boring. returned
Revisado: 07-12-23
I wanted to like this, but the stories of working in a restaurant are just not interesting. I used to work in a restaurant, and nothing here was outside the normal realm. I was hoping for better stories on guests and famous guests in particular. If there were, I couldn't get through enough of the book and how boring it was to get to them.

Revisado: 07-12-23
I tried to like this, I really did. But returned after about 5 chapters of nothing. Ari, might have an exciting life, but this book surely doesn't tell it. Some of the parts about being gay and dealing with that when growing up were fairly amusing, but in the end. yawn. He hasn't anything exciting to say really. Maybe if you are huge fan you might like it.

Historia
Many famed music producers are known for a particular sound that has its day. Rick Rubin is known for something else: creating a space where artists of all different genres and traditions can home in on who they really are and what they really offer. He has made a practice of helping people transcend their self-imposed expectations in order to reconnect with a state of innocence from which the surprising becomes inevitable. Over the years, he has learned that being an artist isn’t about your specific output, it’s about your relationship to the world.

A little too zen
Revisado: 07-12-23
Te warned this is not a biography or much on his working with stars. It's about unleashing your creative mind and ways to identify art in nature and use that for inspiration. While I agree with most of his philosophy and observations, it's just plain too much zen and going on on about the same things to me. Bored me and I'd have returned itmif audible let me, but I've been on a bad run of books of late and returned my limit already. In any case, this book didn't change my life. Perhaps it will yours, but its not what I'd hoped.

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 05-06-23
I listen to alot of audiobooks, and listened to Clint Hill in an interview and thought it might be interesting. However, I found it boring and at times trying to make things exciting that really weren't. Not really much to be heard here. To like this as many have, I believe you have to be a huge fan of the Kennedys. There was so much I didn't find interesting, her travels and setting up houses, riding horses, and interactions with people weren't anything different than you'd expect. Or extraordinary really. maybe that's the point. I'm going to check out Clints earlier books however, I just felt this one was a reach for entertainment.

Revisado: 06-22-22
Being "unique" doesn't necessarily make you that interesting. I have respect for people that have the initiative to tell "their" stories. But this was a bit boring to me. Too many stories about nothing, just blabbing. I imagine if you're a fan of Parker you'll like it. But for those folks looking for good memoirs that hold your attention, might want to skip this one.

Rock and roll in the BC (Before Cooper) era was a tamer, milder world. In Who I Really Am, Cooper’s latest addition to Audible’s Words + Music series, we learn how the boa-wearing (not the feathered kind) maestro arrived at a show and sound - let’s call it AC for After Cooper - that has entertained millions of kids while terrifying parents in equal measure. Cooper drew inspiration from Saturday matinee horror movies, applied a "no such thing as too much" attitude, and hitched it to a kick-ass rock and roll band.

On New Year's Day in 1870, 10-year-old Adolph Korn was kidnapped by an Apache raiding party. Traded to Comanches, he thrived in the rough nomadic existence, quickly becoming one of the tribe's fiercest warriors. That is, until Scott Zesch stumbled upon his great-great-great-uncle's grave. Determined to understand how such a "good boy" could have become Indianized so completely, Zesch traveled across the West.
