John's not what I expected, but I'd definitely drink a beer with him! I was expecting more of a Jonathan Mayberry type person, you know, a BA Lucas Davenport kind of guy 😉, but Jonathan Maberry's not like that either. This is my second time listening to the entire Prey series (, and every day I get to work/get home from work/remodel my bathroom/take an hour long shower with a big smile on my face! ❤️ What else can you ask for?!

Absolute Best Audiobook Ever!
Revisado: 04-23-23
I love this book so much!
I have over 1,100+ books in my Audible collection and another couple hundred from before I became an Audible member, and I have books from all genres: war, drama, historical fiction, LitRPG, post apocalyptic, comedy, fantasy, horror, etc., and this is my favorite audiobook! There are so many laughs, crys, and truths in it...
I don't think there has been a better performance either. Frank Muller brought this story to life in so many way!
I believe this is my fourth time listening to it, and I'm sure I'll listen to it many more times before I die!

Historia
Land-ho! Clyde and co. have finally—finally—made it to the City of Darkness. Which turns out to actually exist! One small problem though. Anyone and anything that sets foot on the island immediately disappears. Ceases to exist. Poof. To complete the quest, Clyde needs to figure out how to actually enter the city and steal the crown jewels . . . without getting stuck in the town forever. It's a foreboding, dark place (obviously), where corruption is rampant. And maybe worse: the game rules Clyde's gotten so good at bending to his will? They don't seem to apply.

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Six months ago, the world was plunged into chaos. The ImDED2 virus had been a mere nuisance for a decade. World powers were at a loss for a cure, but managed to keep isolated outbreaks from becoming a global pandemic. Until New Year’s Day of the year 2020. Just after midnight, the immuno-degenerative and epidermal decomposition virus (strain 2) exploded worldwide, subsuming humanity in a tsunami of blood and terror.

FBI agent Rachel Walling finally gets the call she's dreaded for years, the one that tells her the Poet has surfaced. She has never forgotten the serial killer who wove lines of poetry in his hideous crimes - and apparently he has not forgotten her. What is up with the stupid music and POS sounds?
Revisado: 08-11-20
I couldn't even make it past the 45 minute mark. Who was the book written for? Where did the tough Harry Bosh go? When he talks about his daughter and his ex wife it just stresses me out, because it's so touchy feely and sappy!
I get it, I have a daughter and a wife I love very much, but that's not what this book is supposed to be about. I feel like I bought movie tickets to see Training Day, and 15 minutes into the movie they switched the channel to some wholesome Lifetime Sunday afternoon special with weird music and dumb sound effects.
WTF, such a let down to do this at book 10 in the series!
A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down...
Redrum please!
I'm sure the book gets a little better, but I just can't take it.
