Historia
Small acts of courage matter. Sometimes, they change the world. Our history books are filled with the stories of those who fought for democracy and freedom—for idealism itself—against all odds, from Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela to Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. These iconic struggles for social change illustrate the importance of engagement and activism, and offer a template for the battles we are fighting today. But using the right words is often easier than taking action; action can be hard, and costly.

Thought provoking and fascinating
Revisado: 06-22-24
I love this book for it's passion and it's history and it's human interest.
Ali Velshi tells the hugely compelling, fascinating, and transformational history of the world in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries through the lives of his family - from India, through Africa, to Canada and the USA. I love his style, his message, and his narration.

Historia
As the Allies raced to defeat Hitler, four men, all in the same unit, earned medal after medal for battlefield heroism. Maurice “Footsie” Britt, a former professional football player, became the very first American to receive every award for valor in a single war. Michael Daly was a West Point dropout who risked his neck over and over to keep his men alive. Keith Ware would one day become the first and only draftee in history to attain the rank of general before serving in Vietnam. In WWII, Ware owed his life to the finest soldier he ever commanded, a baby-faced Texan named Audie Murphy.

I thoughoughly enjoyed this book. A great cast of real characters and their biographies and military service. I also learned a great deal I didn't know about the invasion of Italy and the southern European area of operations in WW2.
I highly recommend this.

I loved this wonderfully insightful, detailed and humble telling of the life journey of an extraordinary girl from an ordinary family in an ordinary neighborhood.
Michelle Obama is much more than you may know of her from her time in the White House.
A good, but not professional narration adds to the authenticity of Michelle's story.

Historia
Each day we face a barrage of images and messages from society and the media telling us who, what, and how we should be. We are led to believe that if we could only look perfect and lead perfect lives, we'd no longer feel inadequate. So most of us perform, please, and perfect, all the while thinking, What if I can't keep all of these balls in the air? Why isn't everyone else working harder and living up to my expectations? What will people think if I fail or give up? When can I stop proving myself?

Historia
Researcher and thought leader Dr. Brené Brown offers a powerful new vision that encourages us to dare greatly: to embrace vulnerability and imperfection, to live wholeheartedly, and to courageously engage in our lives. In Daring Greatly, Dr. Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability. Based on 12 years of research, her book argues that vulnerability is not weakness but rather our clearest path to courage, engagement, and meaningful connection.
