I’ve actually enjoyed several other titles by the author. But this was not one of them. The reader was horrible in my opinion, it was painful to listen to him drone on and on. I turned it off after about one third of the book.

Historia
With President Anthony Cook convinced that Mitch Rapp poses a mortal threat to him, CIA Director Irene Kennedy is forced to construct a truce between the two men. The terms are simple: Rapp agrees to leave the country and stay in plain sight for as long as Cook controls the White House. In exchange, the administration agrees not to make any moves against him. This fragile détente holds until Cook’s power-hungry security adviser convinces him that Rapp has no intention of honoring their agreement. To put him on the defensive, they leak the identity of his partner, Claudia Gould.

I’ve enjoyed the services and the reader as well. Everybody has readers they enjoy and I’ve run across a few that were not my favorites. This was a hit on the story and the reader.

A great story, moved along well. It was great to have the old nemesis (USSR) on the other side of the battle. George Guidall is one of my favorite readers. A good reader makes a big difference!

Are they in hiding after detecting surveillance? Or have they turned and become double agents? It’s Jenkins’s duty to find out, but he’s been added to a Russian kill list. Historia
It's 1949. When war veteran Aloysius Archer is released from Carderock Prison, he is sent to Poca City on parole with a short list of dos and a much longer list of don'ts: do report regularly to his parole officer, don't go to bars, certainly don't drink alcohol, do get a job - and don't ever associate with loose women. The small town quickly proves more complicated and dangerous than Archer's years serving in the war or his time in jail.

It’s like a 1940’s movie.
Revisado: 05-22-22
The story starts out slow, a bit like a movies made in the 40’s. The plot does thicken and the last 25% is good. The ending when the murders are solved is a shock…and the final chapter is great.

One reviewer said the story was ok, but the reader was less than great. i thought well different people like different things, he is the worst I’ve ever heard on here. The story was so-so, but the constant background noise detracted from the entire story.

This Cuba is real
Revisado: 06-16-20
Having been to Cuba, the title drew me in. When you read about the Malacon after having walked it, seen the decay of the buildings since the Soviet exit you can’t help but think what things could have been. The people are poor, but proud.
I’m not a fan of the ending, while the assassination plot was a great twist ... I hoped Renko had stayed and filled the void in his life. Finding a true love is hard, finding two ... not sure I would have passed up that second chance that rarely happens.
