the story may be good but for every 5 minutes of something happening there are 10 of exposition and un used flavor text. this may be fine for some but for me it was way tomuch filler and not enough meat.

i love this story over all. the end is rushed but as a whole it is good and works well.

i personally like the narrator for the other books better. jason vu tends to over enunciate.

Slow start.

this really doesn't hit its stride till book 3.

there are a lot of soft leeps in the early books that could use some polish. that said if this continues to improve going forward i will keep listening, took a while but it is starting to scratch the cyber itch.

really wanted to like it, fell far short.

if you like power fantasy and don't mind a gary stue writer self incert along with explicit reidoration and more telling than showing, adjitives for days, and needless sex scenes that take up the bulk of any chapter they are in, then you found your book.

i can see potential here. but i feel this story series could use serious revision, editing, and cutting to draw it together and really make it work.

and the reader would oftwn accidentally use the wrong voice for a passage.

good story with some weak points.

i like the overall story. it has a lot of potential.

however there is to much focus on accent. it detracts more than it contributes to the whole.

and the main character comes off as a mary sue in that good things just fall into her lap without effort and bad things don't leave a mark, washing off pretty quick.

that could be fixed i think if this were a much longer work likely about 3 books. to flesh out the friendships that just happen, work in the motivations of the villains more, and flesh out the world.

other than that the title is click bate. the main character never hides her power or status from her parrents.

with that primise the title should be "don't tell my parrents i drive a crypt"

I am not a fan of hidden world/war stories. They aren't realistic to me. and the cultists lack a solid hook. any gamer and most workers would not stand for a stick only motivation system. if while presenting their front the cultists had a reward and incentive system, it would have gone a long way to making them believable. especially when you find they aren't all possessed.

the writing never lives in the moment. it is all a first person narritive. and they will state something in the present then use five times the time telling you how it is horrible and depressing. and if it is something good it is mentioned as a footnote to get back to whining
with little actual information given.

I got to chapter 7 which should have been an emotional turning point. but the narrator just doubles down on the emotionally dysfunctional monolog.

this book may agitate depressive states.

Gemini is a perfect example of how not to write a strong character. there is nothing she does that couldn't be done better and with more feeling by her supporting cast. she is supposed to be determined but is constantly pulled out of self doubt by her fan club. she doesn't use the skills she is given (like being a pro racer) and is assumed to be top in many things, but it is all tell and no show.

considering the subject matter i was expecting a faster pace and darker tone. and i feel the relationship was a little to obvious. but i like it just the way it is.
