Blunt ending. All of a sudden it was over and you are listening to an ad for the next book. And it didn’t explain how her husband ended up where he did. Just like some of the details where accidentally edited out to rush the ending I had liked all the other books ..

couldn't make it through the first chapter

The background noise was so obnoxious and interfered with character focus for me. It was so irritating, even though I like Emma Thompson, it just wasn't a relaxing listen. You may like it... maybe it faded... don't know. I really wanted to hear the story.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
The narrator and possibly the sound engineer. The voice was so monotone that it started to sound robotic - almost as if I had slowed the sound down to half speed. And there was a little bit of an echo in spots. I had to check my iPhone to make sure I didn't slow down the speed by accident. I'm going to re-download it to make sure it wasn't corrupted.

Haven't listened to her before... and really haven't yet.
How could the performance have been better?
Some intonation. Better sound quality. Don't the authors listen to the talent?
Could you see Ocean Beach being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

He's OK, but in this book he was supposed to have a southern accent, which mostly came off as obnoxious and only sometimes a little bit of southern came through.
Any additional comments?
This book leaves major questions about a character. Why even create that character and the mystery if you're not going to let us in on the answer? If there were another book, a sequel to this one, it would have made sense. So it feels unfinished and incomplete and leaves you frustrated enough to write a review. It made me forget about the good storyline and focus on this unresolved issue.

What did you love best about Monster Hunter International?
That the main character remains humble, and that his character has two completely opposing talents. I also like that the story is fast-paced.
What other book might you compare Monster Hunter International to and why?
Some of the better vampire books.
Which scene was your favorite?
I can tell which scene was NOT my favorite... a description of a sacrifice. But the whole book moves quickly, so it won't take long to get past it!
Any additional comments?
The first book was a little gruesome in spots. I like the second book better and am about to start the third. I was surprised that I liked this series. I thought the title was a little cheesy and almost didn't buy it!

I liked the story. However, the character is supposed to be 23 yrs old, and the reader sounds late 30's/early 40's... It could have sounded 'fresher' with a different attitude/voice.
