Where does Soldier of Fortune (I): The Wolf Cub rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It wouldn't even come close to my top list. And that is perfectly fine! Not every book has to be a masterpiece for you to enjoy it.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I feel like the author needed to go into more detail at certain points of the story to give it more life.

What about Nick Denton’s performance did you like?

Perfectly cast is how I would describe his performance. He hits all of the accents perfectly and you really do feel like you are listening to a storyteller from this time period. Nick Denton seems to be pretty new on the audiobook scene so he's still growing as a Narrator. He lacks some of the nuances of a Reynolds or a Kramer. But he is solid and I look forward to listening to more of him in the future.

Any additional comments?

I give this book a solid 3.75/5

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Follow Nick Denton's solid narration of John Page's life story told by him while cast into prison by the of the Sultan of Constantinople. John Page does not hold any punches in telling of the horrors of war while fighting alongside King Henry in the 1417 campaign to conquer Normandy and France.

If you want an action-packed story that goes from one event to the next with hardly any downtime this is your book. In my honest opinion, the story could have been fleshed out a little to just give it some more life. I know it seems typical of the historical fiction genre. If the author(David Pilling) fleshes out the 2nd book in the story it could easily rival some of Bernard Cornwell's work.

Where does Cartwright's Cavaliers rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It wouldn't even come close to my top list. And that is perfectly fine! Not every book has to be a masterpiece for you to enjoy it.

What other book might you compare Cartwright's Cavaliers to and why?

None? And that is what makes this book so special. I was sad to learn that Jim is not the character that is followed in the rest of the Revelations Cycle. But the world building has me excited none the less.

What does Craig L. Good bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I will not go into detail on an authors performance. Different people have different tastes and what I might not like other people probably will.

But I will say one thing. Craig Good does an excellent job of displaying Jim's tone when he is in certain moods.

Any additional comments?

3.75 out of 5 is my rating for the book.

If you are looking for a fun book that is wrapped with epic mech fights that take place within a wonderfully crafted world. I would highly recommend you give it a shot.

Jim Cartwright isn't your normal hero. For starters Jim is fat and he doesn't let you forget it.
He also has a weird thing going with his toy pony collection and I still haven't figured that one out. He can be whiny(very) at times, but for all of his faults, you will witness Jim turn into the man that anyone would be proud of.

Upon looking into the following books in The Revelations Cycle I think I'm content with keeping this book a standalone.
I also found and was very happy to hear that a new series Omega Wars is not far away and will feature a lot more Jim.
