Historia
Many famed music producers are known for a particular sound that has its day. Rick Rubin is known for something else: creating a space where artists of all different genres and traditions can home in on who they really are and what they really offer. He has made a practice of helping people transcend their self-imposed expectations in order to reconnect with a state of innocence from which the surprising becomes inevitable. Over the years, he has learned that being an artist isn’t about your specific output, it’s about your relationship to the world.

A must for any creative/artist, and others!
Revisado: 04-30-23
I’ve purchased several copies of this book for all of my artistic friends. That doesn’t mean that this book is only for artists however. I believe that anyone who feels like they have a creative side trapped within them, wether they are a banker, soldier, or any other profession, taking what one needs from this book, while shedding the rest can be an eye opening experience to truly grasp a deeper meaning of life. Creation, and love of self, others, and appreciation of all that exists. A truly amazing book, and the reading by Rick Rubin is cathartic and almost ASMR like. I sped it up to 1.3x for my first listen, which I believe is more appropriate for those who feel like time is short. However, while working on my own art pieces, I listen to it at 1x as a way of feeling a matter of inspiration from the work. A+

Amazing book on communication
Revisado: 11-27-22
Very detailed, organized efficiently, and expert information that everyone should read. The narrator has good intonations and matches what I imagine the speaker to sound like. Cheers!

Very well worth the listen - many quotable passages, and the speaker is understandable even at 1.5x speed.

Good book with great narration!
Revisado: 07-01-19
Jonathan Keeble does this book a wonder by narrating voices with different accents, he presents each character with depth and feeling as if we were in the story ourselves.
The story itself seems a tad bit lacking in background and depth, but for its length is a great feature packed with action to add more flavor to the deserving salamanders legion.

far exceeds the quality of memories of ice
Revisado: 08-17-18
the change of performers was unwelcome at first, but the new guy does a pretty good job. the story itself was more succinct and it was easier to follow tge characters than during memories of ice.

Historia
The ravaged continent of Genabackis has given birth to a terrifying new empire: the Pannion Domin. Like a tide of corrupted blood, it seethes across the land, devouring all. In its path stands an uneasy alliance: Onearm’s army and Whiskeyjack’s Bridgeburners alongside their enemies of old - the forces of the Warlord Caladan Brood, Anomander Rake and his Tiste Andii mages, and the Rhivi people of the plains. But ancient undead clans are also gathering; the T’lan Imass have risen.

Historia
Life is divided into three periods - that which has been, that which is, that which will be. Of these the present time is short, the future is doubtful, the past is certain. For the last is the one over which Fortune has lost control, is the one which cannot be brought back under any man's power. But men who are engrossed lose this; for they have no time to look back upon the past, and even if they should have, it is not pleasant to recall something they must view with regret.

Worth an objective listen.
Revisado: 06-16-18
The audio book is well constructed and articulated well. I feel like the book is a very outside looking in perspective on different lifestyles, where I believe the main point is to not waste time but it somewhat devolves into an attack on lifestyle choices without elaborating on what he perceives as being worth while use of time. Good read/listen overall with inspiring points well made.
