Historia
Miranda July’s second novel confirms the brilliance of her unique approach to fiction. With July’s wry voice, perfect comic timing, unabashed curiosity about human intimacy, and palpable delight in pushing boundaries, All Fours tells the story of one woman’s quest for a new kind of freedom. Part absurd entertainment, part tender reinvention of the sexual, romantic, and domestic life of a forty-five-year-old female artist, All Fours transcends expectation while excavating our beliefs about life lived as a woman.

Couldn’t Finish It
Revisado: 10-19-24
The voice fit the book quite well, both are somewhat depressing. I quit about halfway through because I couldn’t find a reason to continue.

Much needed information!

This book is considered required reading in non-monogamy circles. I was very excited to find it in Audiobook form, as I rarely have time to read. I’m forever grateful to the authors for providing this book.

Historia
When Raphael Cushnir's marriage fell apart, he decided to stop running away from the pain and embrace it. This led to an unintended explosion of “Kundalini” energy as well as a spiritual awakening. Yet, his awakening was anything but typical. At first it was chaotic, terrifying, and even sometimes demonic.

Honest, raw, and inspiring
Revisado: 09-09-23
So often when reading a spiritual teacher’s work, that teach holds a place of ‘other’ in my mind. THEY certainly no longer live mundane struggles, because they are a TEACHER, right?!?!
This audiobook pulled me in, and I recognized parallels between the authors life and my own. My heart went out to him and wanted to support him through his experiences. I wanted to know how his story would turn out, because maybe, just maybe, it would cut a path through the forest that I could follow. His humility, transparency, and ability to live with the strangeness is inspiring.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Performance Could Be Better
Revisado: 03-01-22
The story is fine. Not fantastic, not horrible. The premise is very interesting overall. The performance, however, is off. The speaking speed randomly increases and decreases, to the point that I kept checking my settings thinking I had bumped something. The reader’s accent also randomly changes, not when the character changes, but mid-sentence of a single character. Even given those flaws, it was worth a listen. I wouldn’t likely recommend it, but I didn’t stop midway through and request a refund either.

Historia
A revolutionary approach to the techniques of working with horses, by a renowned instructor. In Horses Never Lie, renowned horse trainer Mark Rashid challenges the conventional wisdom of "alpha leadership" and teaches the listener to become a "passive leader" - a counterpart to the kind of horse other members of a herd choose to associate with and to follow. Applying Rashid’s principles and techniques helps cultivate horse personalities that are responsive and dependable regardless of the rider.

Great book, poor narrator
Revisado: 10-19-17
I recently listened to the book ‘Considering the horse’ by the same author and really enjoyed and learned from it. Because of that, I bought this audiobook also. While the stories and information are equal to the other book, the narrator makes the listening experience unpleasant. His voice is mechanical, and he mispronounces many words that are common to Horse people. I will make note of his name and work hard to not purchase audio books with him as narrator in the future.
