Disappointing
Revisado: 07-19-21
Ive followed this whole series and have really enjoyed it. I always look forward to the next book. It feels now like its possibly gone on too long as this one felt like a bit of a damp squib. Apart from a few amusing interactions between Sailor and Oscar, it was underwhelming. Lily is supposed to have these amazing magical powers but you never really get to see them being used. I cant imagine how difficult it is to write a story so I truly admire anyone who can do that. However this just felt unsatisfying and at times as though parts of previous stories were being repeated. However...Im so thankful for the stories up till now as the first few were so new and different to anything that was available at the time.

I was pleasantly surprised. The story was very enjoyable and the characters relatable even though they are superheroes.

Historia
A gripping collection of 15 BBC Radio full-cast dramas written by Bert Coules, inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original stories. In the 56 short stories and four novels Arthur Conan Doyle wrote about his great detective, how many times did Dr John Watson tantalise us with references to cases which were never written about in full? These original adventures flesh out those unrecorded cases to wonderful effect. Clive Merrison plays the great sleuth himself, with Andrew Sachs in the role of Doctor Watson.

Be aware of incorrect order of stories
Revisado: 07-26-18
Although I enjoyed this book in general, and I think Bert Coules did a good job overall, the perpetrators of the crimes became predictable. I enjoyed his portrayal of the relationship between Holmes and Watson, which reflects slightly more favorably on Watson than Conan Doyle’s version. Sadly, the stories seem to have been put together in the wrong order, part 2 of the Malbern murders appearing before part 1. Unless the producers have done this on purpose for some unfathomable reason that I cannot possibly guess at.

Getting old
Revisado: 11-18-17
I love the narrator Lorelei King so it's always nice to hear her familiar voice. However,it feels like the story has become secondary to the authors attempt to fit in as many silly scenarios as she can. Lulas antics have become annoying in the extreme and it just feels like a rehash of old stories. As much as I love Stephanie Plum, perhaps it's time to put her to bed.

No recipes?
Revisado: 10-07-17
I just want to know why we dont get the recipes,as Audible listeners, that others have mentioned in their reviews? I was really looking forward to that part! Other than that,I enjoyed the book as it includes the paranormal, a mystery and vegan food...my favorite topics. So refreshing to read a book that doesn't tempt you with constant insertions of junk food 😄

Historia
Harvey Boyd is a small-town radio newsman who thinks the biggest story of his career is the murder trial of Angel Whaley, accused of offing her husband - rising country star Jared Whaley - in his dressing room before a show at a local nightclub. He has no idea. Following a field trip to the station by a group of sixth-graders, Harvey finds a suspicious document uploaded to his laptop. It had to have been put there by that quiet kid who'd slipped away from the tour and been caught at the computer....

So disappointed
Revisado: 09-25-17
I'm truly surprised by all the positive reviews. This book was nothing close to what I expected having read the reviews and the summary. I didn't enjoy it at all. Im not denying the man can write, but the story was drawn out, repetitive and in parts plain boring. I kept pushing through waiting for it to redeem itself. By the time the ending came I wasn't even invested in the outcome anymore. I'm by no means a prude but I feel that books with so much swearing should have some kind of notification feature, like movies do....just in case that's not your thing.

I really enjoyed this book. Tyler has deep and clear insights for someone his age. It was interesting to hear his story and his views on life and relationships. As someone with social anxiety as well,I admire the strength and determination he has shown on his journey to get where he is.

Historia
"Chew on this," says Melrose Plant to Richard Jury. Plant tells Jury of something he overheard in The Grave Maurice, a pub near the hospital. A woman told an intriguing story about a girl named Nell Ryder, granddaughter to the owner of the Ryder Stud Farm in Cambridgeshire, who went missing more than a year before and has never been found. What is especially interesting to Plant is that Nell is also the daughter of Jury's surgeon. But Nell's disappearance isn't the only mystery at the Ryder farm.

My favorite one
Revisado: 03-17-17
I love this womans writing, she is so gifted. The way she describes the antics of animals and children is preciously accurate. This has been my favorite Richard Jury novel. The plot is interesting and the characters entertaining, without the meandering that sometimes accompanies her stories. If you are looking for the stereotypical Hollywood endings, Martha Grimes' stories are not for you.
