Historia
In his first major work since The Universal Christ, one of our most prominent spiritual voices offers a wholehearted and hope-filled model for the world today, grounded in the timeless wisdom of the Hebrew prophets. How do we live compassionately in a time of violence and despair? What can we do with our private disappointments and the anger we feel in such an unjust world? In his most personal book yet, Richard Rohr turns to the writings of the Jewish prophets, revealing how some of the lesser-read books of the Bible offer us a crucial path forward today.

This is the book we need
Revisado: 03-09-25
Any words I write here do a disservice to this work. It's one of the most staggeringly beautiful works of writing I've ever read. It's the reckoning of my faith and spiritual upbringing, and I'm sure many many others. This book is both a cracking open and repairing of our individual and collective spiritual health.

Historia
We’ve been looking at perfectionism all wrong. As psychotherapist and former on-site therapist at Google Katherine Morgan Schafler argues in The Perfectionist's Guide to Losing Control, you don’t have to stop being a perfectionist to be healthy. For women who are sick of being given the generic advice to “find balance,” a new approach has arrived.

A breath of fresh air

I've never felt so exposed by a book, in the best way possible. So grateful for a book on this topic that isn't riddled with the language of shame.

Historia
Maria Bamford is a comedian’s comedian (an outsider among outsiders) and has forever fought to find a place to belong. From struggling with an eating disorder as a child of the 1980s, to navigating a career in the arts (and medical debt and psychiatric institutionalization), she has tried just about every method possible to not only be a part of the world, but to want to be a part of it. In Bamford’s “trademark blend of disarming intimacy and dark whimsy” (Publishers Weekly), Sure, I’ll Join Your Cult brings us on a quest to participate in something.

Might be my fave book of 2023
Revisado: 10-02-23
Maria gave me the space and ability to look at my own past, which, up until this book was too heavy and painful for me to revisit. Her humor and honesty has possibly forever changed the way I relate to my own story and the only shitty part of that is, I'll never be able to thank her for that personally.
