Another great visit to Seattle and the Pike St Market with Pepper and her crew. A few new friends, a couple of old friends and some great twists and turns. Only Pepper can make it seem logical to track down the previous owners of a chair left on the curb. She follows the trail to a dead man (of course), there are large sums of cash, draw bridges and, of course, yummy treats. The only real problem left after all is said and done is the wait for the next installment.

two strong main characters woven together in one great listen

these two women are fabulous characters, strong and able to carry a story on their own. Together they were even better. The two stories, with Paige mysteriously vanishing in Oregon and two deceased women discovered in New York, wove together into one fabulous listen. Enough red hearings to keep me guessing until a wild ending leaves you wanting more.

Kids voices killed the story

The voicing of the 5 year old twins was creepy. The boy's voice sounded more like a what you would hear from an obscene phone call than a 5 year old child. It made listening to the story very difficult.

Ms Greyborne left without me

I struggled with the beginning of this book, like someone had left on a tour without me and I needed score cards to play catch up. All of a sudden we are in England with an entirely new cast of supporting characters and storylines. Once the backstory was filled in and we had brief glimpses of our old friends in Greyborne Harbor the story moved along nicely with some good twists and turns.

Couldn't stop listening

When I begin a new series I often fast forward thru the first book, but not this time. The story started fast and kept moving, adding twists and a few flips. Rachel feels real and quickly gets you to root for her and even for her beloved beta fish. She tackles every challenge thrown at her as she fights to end the corruption in her new home town, while she also learns who she can trust. Her partner Bishop is exacerbated by her determination to keep moving ahead on the investigation that everyone else has insisted is closed, but he's also awed by her refusal to go along to get along. Hamby Georgia will never be the same and that is a very good thing.

Grabbed me and didn't let go

Amazing story and character development. Rockin' Robin is a tough opponent both in the courtroom and out, She is smart, attractive, has ethics and isn't afraid to think outside the box or ask the hard questions. I started listening to this book and then had to move right on thru the entire series.

hooked from the beginning. it's a roller coaster ride. you never know what will happen next and you can't wait to find out.

Story was fine, narration was awful

I actually wondered if this was AI narrated since there was very little inflection and when there was it seemed at odds with the story. The humor of the story was lost with the lack of inflections. Carlos' accent was awful, and what was supposed to sound sexy sounded stalker creepy.
