Will: I've never been with a man. Sure, I've thought about it. Wondered. Daydreamed. Imagined. But I wasn't ready to take the leap. I have a reputation as a "ladies' man". No one has any idea how curious I am about men—not even my openly bi best friend. Make that former best friend. Michael ghosted me, and I have no idea why.

I love, love, love this adorable Christmas book!
Revisado: 11-30-22
Michael: Bless his clueless heart! I will admit he frustrated me a lot. Mostly because he so easily gave up pieces of himself to please his ex-boyfriend. With trying to protect himself from his feelings for Will he lost himself if the process.
Will: What a sweet man. At times he lacked trust in himself and I wanted him to hold Michael more accountable for cutting him off. That being said I adored him and how caring and selfless he is.
I loved them together. All the warm fuzzies and all the feels. I also enjoyed the aspect of it being in Australia at Christmas which has such a completely different setting than I am used to.
Greg Boudreaux is a one-click narrator for me. He never disappoints and certainly didn’t this time. As always his ability to give each character their own “voice” provides such a great experience. I don’t need to think about who is speaking. I can just relax and enjoy the book!

Historia
Between running a garage full of beefed-up gear-head mechanics and bailing my idiot brother out of trouble every other week, the last thing I have time for is a relationship. I’ve tried it too many times, and the ridiculous reasons I always find to end it have become a running joke around the garage. But I’ve learned my lesson. No. More. Boyfriends. I don’t care how many times Porter falls asleep drunk in my bed or how cute he looks covered in oil smears while I teach him how to fix up the vintage car he has rusting away in his garage; I’m not going to fall for him.

Fantastic listen!
Revisado: 09-24-22
Crankshaft is a great start to the Big Bulls Mechanics series!
Porter:
I have been a Porter fan since his failed attempts in the Four Bears Construction books but if I thought I was wanting him to find his prince I mean bear… then I was wrong. He is adorable, sweet, and a bit sassy. If I had one complaint it’s that he doesn’t realize his own self worth but isn’t that what makes him endearing. I won’t go as far as to say he needs Steele to see it but give him the push to believe in himself.
Steele:
Sometimes the typical bear can appear to have a grouchy personality but I didn’t feel that way with Steele. Although he is busy you could tell how easygoing and settled he is with his people. The hero complex he has can always lead to no one paying attention to his needs but this is where Porter comes in and really sees him and what he needs in a partner.
Tim Page and Liam Dicosimo bring to life sweet veterinarian and snarky mechanic in a way that lets you immerse yourself in the Big Bulls Mechanics!

Historia
I came to Palm Island two seasons ago, confused about my life and desperate for a change. The island drew me in, but I’m still not sure why. Maybe it’s time I cut my losses and go back home, back to med school like I always planned. But when the breathtaking, flirtatious, tattooed bartender I’ve been crushing on for ages offers to let me room with him this off-season, there’s no way I’m leaving now.

Perfect Ten!!
Revisado: 05-04-22
Welcome to Palm Island!
From the start of the book I couldn’t see any way how Ten and Bambi could be together. They are so vastly different.
I had a hard time liking Bambi he has had it rough gone through things that would make him closed off and skittish but I was inpatient I wanted him to break out of his shell faster. When he finally did I felt like I could connect a little more.
I kind of wanted to dislike Ten he was so far on the chill scale that I wanted him to show more true emotion to seem like he truly cares not that he is cold more that he is so chill he isn’t passionate about things. Again though he has gone through things that have shaped him into the person he is.
That all being said the great part of the book comes when they finally open enough of themselves to make the first tentative connection and how it spirals from there. Seeing how they are able to break through each other’s walls and how that helps them each find a middle ground a balance that makes them people I can not only like but truly see being together.
In true K. M. Neuhold fashion she gave me just enough of the side characters to leave me highly anticipated learning more about them as the series continues!
Iggy Toma brings his A game not that I ever doubted it. There is never any question that I will love any narration done by this narrator however an added layer is the way he is able to even give a different "voice" not only to the main characters but supporting characters as well!

Historia
Most people on the island avoid the hot-tempered chef, but he doesn't scare me. Sure, he's prickly, but I've also caught him feeding a stray cat, so I know there's more to him than the sky-high barbed-wire fence he's built around himself. When Storm's ex-husband shows up unexpectedly during the off-season and refuses to go home, pretending to be Storm’s boyfriend is apparently my new job. Faking it with my grumpy boss should not be this much fun, especially since the last thing I need is to make a fool of myself by falling for anyone else on the island.

The Calm Meets the Storm!!
Revisado: 05-04-22
Storm: I’m not always a fan of the grouchy stoic character so I was a bit hesitant with Storm and I admit at first I was not a fan. However it didn’t take long for the cracks in the wall to show. After he opened up some his true personality is fantastic.
Hennessey: So I was admittedly more open to Hennessey from the beginning but his personality stood on its own without my expectations. He is cheerful but snarky. Secure at times but aware of his faults.
Sometimes the fake boyfriend genre can seems like the connection comes out at the blue. What I liked about Storm and Hennessey was as they opened up to each other throughout the fake relationship you were really able to see that they’ve been building the foundation for a very long time. The right catalyst was needed for them to give each other a chance. I love them as a couple and enjoyed their journey to get there. Excited for more in the series and cameos from Storm and Hennessey!
Igga Toma is a one-click narrator for me. I never doubt that the narration will be smooth and the nuances between the different characters will be obvious without sounding like a "fake voice"!

Historia
Xavier’s on the run from a rough past. Luckily, he’s a jackrabbit shifter who’s good at getting lost. Not so lucky? He’s also pregnant, and needs a safe place to burrow. He sees his chance in a small Arizona town - by carjacking his own fated mate, and taking him hostage. "Kinda". Is it really kidnapping, if the hostage offers to be taken? Return to the hills above Cottonwood, Arizona, where every shifter has a bit of special magic, and the pack of homesteaders, preppers, and loners are a lot nosier about each other’s lives than they’d care to admit.

Another sweet fun listen!
Revisado: 03-23-22
The most adorable Bear and feisty little Jackrabbit! This book is sweet, fun, and brings all the feels. Classic Susi Hawke I enjoyed every moment. I adored how you needed to throw out stereotypes with Shane not being the “traditional alpha” I don’t know how to describe him without making him sound weak and that couldn’t be farther from the truth! He is so sweet and lovable. Xavier is skittish and not just because of his shifter side being a jackrabbit he has been through a lot and although he knows he has found where he belongs he doesn’t think he deserves it. Fated mates who needs a nudge!
Michael Dean as usual doesn’t disappoint. Any narrator who can do dual perspective with distinctive enough voices differences that I can tell who is speaking without being told is a narrator with true talent.

Historia
The last thing Emerson Rose expects is to fall for his best friend, Rhys, especially since he’s never been attracted to a man before. Everything in his life is already complicated enough. He’s put his own future on hold to raise his two younger siblings, and confusing feelings for the guy who always has his back muddy the waters even more. But then something astonishing happens. For one perfect moment, he thinks Rhys might feel the same - only to have his world come crashing down around him a second time.

A long road to a solid relationship.
Revisado: 03-05-22
I struggle with books that take a large chunk of the story for the characters to get together. I am not looking for insta-love but in this case the characters being best friends for so long negates the possibility of that.
It is easy to see why Emerson thinks he needs to protect Rhys because Emerson has spent most of his life as the role of protector.
Rhys has always been such an integral part of Emerson’s life it seems like it would be too good to be true to hope for more.
Although I would have preferred Emerson be honest with Rhys earlier the fact that they have such a strong bond makes up for the delayed gratification.
Kale Williams is perfect narrator for this book and really brings to life.

Historia
Austin never realized he was painting his life with shades of gray, until Keaton came along and injected a rainbow of color. Keaton is a tornado of chaos and paint, which turns out to be more exciting than I ever would’ve imagined. I love my organized, predictable life...or at least I thought I did. But what started as a casual hookup is slowly becoming so much more, and I find myself loving the beautiful mess more than I expected. Can two people so different really make it work once feelings get involved?

Iggy Toma and KM Neuhold never disappoint!
Revisado: 09-02-21
Austin: I loved Austin! At first I was thinking he was going to be really uptight and stuffy and that was true to a point but I loved how quickly he opened up to new experiences! When he looked after Keaton when he was creating my heart melted.
Keaton: Not one part of me understands his lifestyle of only working to have enough money to get by. However I loved him. He was as endearing as he was crazy and I mean crazy in a good way too! Two seeming opposites come together and find out that deep down they aren’t all that different and what a fantastic combo they make.
Iggy Toma as usual was amazing. When there is one narrator for two characters is can be hard to have difference in tone and inflections but Iggy Toma never disappoints. I can always tell which character is talking and that takes a special talent!

What a wonderful journey!
Revisado: 03-02-21
I was a little wary going into this. This specific troupe isn’t a favorite of mine. Since K. M. Neuhold penned this I decided to trust and go for it. I was hooked from the first word. I loved this book. Seeing how much Barrett cared about and For Sterling was fabulous and brought on all the feels. Seeing Sterling grow into himself and still have independence while being cherished brought on pride.
The duo of Liam Dicosimo and Tim Paige are as always fantastic. They are a perfect fit for and really bring these amazing characters to life.
When characters are “real” to the point that I experience emotions while listening to it is a true testament to the talent of the author and narrator combination!
I am so glad that I put my reservations aside and jumped in with both feet. I am really glad that Sterling jumped with both feet for Barrett!

Dream team of Narrator and Authors!
Revisado: 02-11-20
Wow I don’t know where to start with how much I adored this book and this performance!
Narration:
As usual Kenneth Obi knocks it out of the park. I am usually skeptical when there is one narrator for a dual POV book. I can say that I am NEVER skeptical when the narrator is Kenneth Obi. The nuances he is able to put into his performance where I know without a doubt who is “speaking” at the time shows his natural talent and dedication to his work. I also have a hard time with southern accents in books they can seem overdone but Kenneth Obi hit the nail on the head with Jackson! Another amazing performance from a five star narrator!
The Book:
Campy is such a complex character. He has so many layers he is like a yummy cake…just talk to Jackson about that! Usually I have a hard time liking a character that holds so much back from the people in his life but I adored Campy from the start.
Jackson oh what an amazing character he is. I don’t know how to find the words to describe this Texas gentleman… sweet, patient (because he sure needs to be with Campy), and so lovable.
These two together make a pair that compliments each other so well. Each character by themselves is an awesome person…together they are epic!!
