Historia
He was a model citizen. A hospital volunteer. And one of the most sadistic serial killers of all time. But few people could see the cruel monster beneath the colorful clown makeup that John Gacy wore to entertain children in his Chicago suburb. Few could imagine what lay buried beneath his house of horrors—until a teenage boy disappeared before Christmas in 1978, leading prosecutor Terry Sullivan on the greatest manhunt of his career.

I was riveted....
Revisado: 08-10-20
I was 10 years old living in Park Ridge, IL when John Wayne Gacy was arrested. I remember learning that he "killed children" but when you're 10 you don't really understand the overarching legacy of something like that.
Then, in my first year of graduate school, I watched the made-for-TV movie, "To Catch a Killer," starring the great Brian Dennehy. And I recalled more of this story of this awful, evil man.
But this book gave me the whole story - the things I was not old enough to understand, growing up less than 2 miles from where Gacy lived. The narration is spot-on, the level of detail, and the storytelling is incredible. Terry Sullivan has written the penultimate true crime book.

Should be required reading for grown ups...
Revisado: 06-23-20
I've read ALL of Sarah's books and have hosted her on my podcast. Getting a dose of Sarah Knight books should be a requirment for all adults! There is so much wisdom and honesty in Sarah's work and her story of leaving her 9 to 5 that was sucking the life out of her is beyond inspiring. And listening to her perform the books as well is just icing on the cake.

"No" is sometimes the hardest word to say. It's also the most necessary. How many times have you heard yourself saying yes to the wrong things - overwhelming requests, bad relationships, time-consuming obligations? How often have you wished you could summon the power to turn them down? This program will help you take back your power by showing that a well-placed "No" can not only save you time and trouble, it can save your life.

Quirky, but real and genuine. LOTS of good stuff
Revisado: 06-23-20
I first heard James Altucher speak at Podcast Movement Evolutions and found his delivery quirky, but he's funny and is a great motivator. So I loaded up on his books right away and have been barrelling through them. This one is my favorite and I really love all the exercises and tips. This is a book I will read over and over again when I need a kick in the ass.

Historia
There is little more terrifying than those who hunt, stalk, and snatch their prey under the cloak of darkness. These hunters search not for animals, but for the touch, taste, and empowerment of human flesh. They are cannibals, vampires, and monsters, and they walk among us. These serial killers are not mythical beasts with horns and shaggy hair. They are people living among society, going about their day-to-day activities until nightfall. They are the Dennis Rader's, the fathers, husbands, church-going members of the community.

My favorite DDT book!
Revisado: 06-20-19
I've listened to several of Denise' books and they always seemed just a little too casual for me - with mistakes and retakes that aren't edited out. However, her message is always spot on, and this book is my favorite because everything flows so well and Denise has really upped her game. I love all the tips and suggestions that are here.

Historia
Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

Perfectly scary
Revisado: 06-20-19
I've read this book a dozen times and probably watched the movie a hundred times. LOVED this version of the book with Blatty's narration. Easy to picture the scenes not just as they are in the movie, but as they were in his head when he wrote it. I couldn't listen to it at night at all!

Nothing New - but delivery is key!
Revisado: 06-20-19
I knew nothing of Larry Winget before this book, but I really enjoyed the listen. No real "new" information for me, I've read a ton of money mindset books. But Larry's delivery is spot on and he has an ass-kicking mindset that really makes you think about your situation - and also to accept your situation. My favorite point from this book is that us broke people need to really feel remorse before we can make real change happen.

Revisado: 12-27-18
I really enjoyed this book and how straight forward and no bullshit it is. The narrator was awesome - it was as though I was listening to a comedy show but still taking in great information. I finished this book in two day going back and forth from work and will definitely listen again. Great thoughts here on how we should be approaching our relationship with money.

Historia
From the New York Times best-selling author of The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck and Get Your Sh*t Together comes more straight talk about how to stand up for who you are and what you really want, need, and deserve - showing when it's okay to be selfish, why it's pointless to be perfect, and how to be "difficult". Being yourself should be easy, yet too many of us struggle to live on other people's terms instead of our own. Rather than feeling large and in charge, we feel little and belittled.
