Historia
Block by Block offers an original perspective on thermodynamic science and history based on the three approaches of a practicing engineer, academician, and historian. The book synthesizes and gathers into one accessible volume a strategic range of foundational topics involving the atomic theory, energy, entropy, and the laws of thermodynamics.

Having listened to or read much shorter books on this subject I wasn’t sure about starting this book because of its length. My bachelors degree from 30 years ago was in the social sciences. At this point in my life I’m simply enjoying learning for the sake of learning. My main focus being physics. A subject that I was overwhelmed by in my youth. For someone at my level this is the perfect book for this subject matter. I was able to understand more about the 1st law and appreciate much more about the complexity of the 2nd. Enjoyed the history and detail of those that made contributions to the development of thermodynamics. I knew from the beginning that the audiobook didn’t include any of the math and I wasn’t interested anyway. However after listening to this book I will be purchasing the hard copy for the math. Truly a delight.

Historia
The Kolob Theorem written by Professor Lynn M. Hilton allows us to see more clearly the celestial home we lived in before we were born and the home we will live in after we die. These places appear more real; they are made of matter, some of very fine and pure matter, and exist in time and space. Lynn, as a man of faith, unites in a single theory, scientific evidence and sources from the standard works of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to account for the form and structure of all of God’s worlds, planets, and suns.

Tried to keep an open mind
Revisado: 12-30-19
The author made it perfectly clear that this was his own opinion and not doctrine. However after only listening for an hour I lost all interest and stopped. When I made the purchase l was at least expecting some correlation between current scientific observation and the standard works. For example, entropy and the eventual heat death of the universe as according to the second law of thermodynamics. What about touching on a reason why the universe is expanding at an accelerated rate causing galaxies that are far away from us to be moving away at ever increasing speed, and those that are close(Andromeda) we are heading towards. I believe in time that science and religion will be asking the same questions and was hoping that this book would make that leap. It doesn’t.

Historia
From the 17th century to the 21st century, humans went from being almost universally agrarian with sailing vessels, muskets, and astrolabes being the most cutting-edge technology on the planet, to an era where the world is almost universally industrial or post-industrial with airplanes, cars, spaceships, computers, widespread electricity, and the ability to produce much more food than was ever possible before the Industrial Revolution.

Biggest disappointment in audiobooks I’ve ever encountered. Audible needs to pull this title. The only thing that captured my attention was the gross amount of errors. Was looking for some insight into the greatest minds in history, what a letdown
