Historia
The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

Understanding our humanity - the essence of who we are - is one of the deepest mysteries and biggest challenges in modern science. Why do we have bad moods? Why are we capable of having such strange dreams? How can metaphors in our language hold such sway on our actions? Somewhat Interesting but not Quite as Advertised

Interesting and inspiring
Revisado: 05-05-15
This book felt like being back at university sat there listening to a favorite teacher.
Being from an engineering background, I don't have much knowledge of neuroscience. The lectures were well delivered, I had no problem understanding the concepts being presented and found it incredibly interesting.

Historia
We have all used forms of manipulation in our lifetime. For example, a child manipulating a parent by crying incessantly when that parent balks at the idea of buying them the latest toy, crying to the point where that parent just eventually wears down and gives in or altering our appearance with the intention of getting a specific reaction or getting others to perceive us in a certain way. We all have engaged in the art of manipulation.

The Narrator was terrible
Revisado: 12-24-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
People who have had no western social interaction. Ever.
What was most disappointing about Omar Johnson’s story?
The material was very uninspired. The author makes vast generalisations based on western psychology cliches.
What didn’t you like about Phillip Hubler’s performance?
Monotoned and no punctuation was observed. The narrator was in such a hurry to get through the material, there was no pause to acknowledge the end of chapter nor the title of the following chapter.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Utter disappointment.
Any additional comments?
The best way I can describe it - This book sounded like an auctioneer was trying to sell a car.
