Historia
Riverside Close is a picture-perfect community. The six exclusive and attractive houses are tucked far away from the noise and grime of city life, allowing the residents to enjoy beautiful gardens, pleasant birdsong, and tranquility from behind the security of a locked gate. It is the perfect idyll, until the Kentworthy family arrives, with their four giant, gas-guzzling cars, gaggle of shrieking children, and plans for a garish swimming pool in the backyard. Obvious outsiders, the Kentworthys do not belong in Riverside Close, and quickly offend every last one of the neighbors.

Loved the new Hawthorne!
Revisado: 04-20-24
Anthony has done it again! A wonderful take on the Hawthorne novels, #5. A huge shout out to Rory Kinnear who is all the characters. What a talent.
What I also love about this book is the end acknowledgements where the real Anthony Horowitz thanks all the people that allow him to create these epic, satisfying and informal literature fictions that feed my soul. Also, the promise of more in the Hawthorne series! JOY!

Historia
When Juno Browne returns to the picturesque Dartmoor town of Ashburton after a brief holiday, she’s relieved to find that no one has been murdered while she was away. Though uncharitable friends suggest the quiet was simply due to her absence. Just as she’s settling back into her routine at the antiques shop and as domestic helper and dog walker, the brutal killing of local journalist Sandy Thomas shocks the town.

I have liked this author/book series...but
Revisado: 01-16-24
The ghastly narration takes away from the whimsical storyline and makes me wonder if I'm listening to the same author at all?
Having been a visitor to many of the places mentioned in these stories, Dartmoor, Okehampton, Tavistock, Paignton, Torquay and more, I was truly looking forward to book 7 and pre-ordered it with delivery date of tomorrow here in the USA. Too late I see that the same narrator will be reading this book, and I'm a bit on the fence about starting it at all.
I did research to see how many other books this narrator has performed and was surprised to see a great number books. So maybe just not my style, and as it is winter, I should just get the book and read it myself? All I know is that I will be listening to every book preview from now on before making a purchase or a pre-order.

But who is friend or foe? The victim of some most unfortunate misunderstandings, Grasby needs to clear his name. But as is often the way with the unlucky detective, things most certainly don't go according to plan.

Historia
Some lines should never be crossed. Police corruption, an investigation that ends in tragedy and the mystery of a little girl’s silence – three unconnected events that will prove to be linked by one small town. While detective Cormac Reilly faces enemies at work and trouble in his personal life, garda Peter Fisher is relocated out of Galway with the threat of prosecution hanging over his head. But even that is not as terrible as having to work for his overbearing father, the local copper for the pretty seaside town of Roundstone.

One of the best since Charles Paris novels!
Revisado: 02-03-19
Although I love the full cast drama and humor of the Charles Paris (Bill Nighy) novels, I was pleasantly surprised by Graham Norton's first novel! I have listened to it several times... and love it more each time. I usually look for 'Full Cast', as is my preference for relaxing listening, but Graham Norton supplies the most generous and heartfelt narration for this and his new novel, 'A Keeper'.
I find myself watching his weekly show on BBC America and wishing him home to write another story. LOVE this as my new favorite and also 'A Keeper'. You won't be disappointed!

Charles is out of work again, and to make matters worse his mother has come to stay and he's no way of escaping her. So when he's offered some voiceover work by old friend, Hugo, he's delighted to get out of the house.
