Historia
Genovese, Gambino, Bonnano, Colombo, and Lucchese. For decades these Five Families ruled New York and built the American Mafia (or Cosa Nostra) into an underworld empire. Today, the Mafia is an endangered species, battered and beleaguered by aggressive investigators, incompetent leadership, betrayals, and generational changes that produced violent, unreliable leaders and recruits.

narration is horrible
Revisado: 02-29-24
the narration is so boring and monotone. the content could be so exciting and interesting, but I can't even tolerate listening. I didn't finish, and wish I could remove it from my library

Historia
Shocking and controversial when it was first published in 1939, Steinbeck's Pulitzer prize-winning epic The Grapes of Wrath remains his undisputed masterpiece. Set against the background of Dust Bowl Oklahoma and Californian migrant life, it tells of Tom Joad and his family, who, like thousands of others, are forced to travel west in search of the promised land. Their story is one of false hopes, thwarted desires, and broken dreams, yet out of their suffering Steinbeck created a drama that is intensely human, yet majestic in its scale and moral vision.

harmonica too loud
Revisado: 07-15-21
the story is great, but the narrator has a sharp whistle with each "s" sound. also, the harmonica is unnecessary and much louder than the narrator.
